Daniel Dae Kim is the latest star to test positive for Coronavirus. The 51-year-old, who recently joined the cast of "New Amsterdam," has revealed he started developing symptoms on his flight home to Hawaii after filming on the hit drama series was shut down in New York City. Announcing the news in a lengthy Instagram video on Thursday, he claimed to be “asymptomatic” at the time, but that all changed on the flight home. The "New Amsterdam" cast features a whole slew of stars including Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, and more.

Recognizing The First Symptoms:

Describing his first symptoms, Daniel Dae Kim said, “As the flight was close to landing, I started noticing some scratchiness in my throat, which is unlike how I usually get sick." The actor added that when he landed in Hawaii, he called his family doctor. "He told me to monitor my symptoms. To be safe, when I got home, I quarantined myself in a room in the house and tried to rest on my own," he said in the video. "But later that night, I started feeling tightness in my chest, body aches and my temperature started to rise. So he then told me to get tested.”

Getting Tested & Self-Isolation:

So, Daniel Dae Kim got tested at a drive-thru center in Honolulu. Describing the test as "awkward" and "a little painful," the "Lost" actor explained, "they shove a huge swab into your nose and into your throat." Adding it was all worth it in the end "because of what I found out." The dad of two practiced self-isolation and revealed he didn't go to the hospital. “I never went to a hospital, but with the help of medication, bed rest, liquids and, of course, my loving family, I didn’t need to. I actually started feeling better the day after, and I started feeling a little better the day after that, and today, even though I’m not 100 percent, I’m pretty close,” Daniel Dae Kim said.

Other Stars Testing Positive:

The "Hawaii Five-O" star added he may not have to get the vaccine at all and offered his support to help those create a cure for COVID-19. “With any luck, I will have actually built up an immunity to this virus when all of this is said and done. So I may not actually need the vaccine when it comes out," he continued. I hope it does soon though, and I will gladly contribute in any way I can, including donating antibodies in the pursuit of finding a vaccine for everyone." Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and Idris Elba are just three of the other stars who have tested positive for Coronavirus.
