Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie Ready To Take Down Roger Ailes in 'Bombshell' Trailer

Charlize Theron is bringing ice queen realness as Megyn Kelly in the trailer for the film on the women who took down Roger Ailes, which also stars Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie.

In the film directed by Jay Roach, Robbie plays a fictional news producer named Kayla Pospisil who works at Fox News. Theron plays Megyn Kelly while Kidman takes on the role of former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson.

In the short teaser trailer, we watch as Robbie’s character leaves the newsroom and walks towards the elevator. She eventually gets on by herself and goes up a floor. Theron soon gets on the elevator and comes on looking like an ice queen.

She glares over at Robbie’s character while on the opposite side of the elevator. The next level Kidman joins the two and everyone else exits the elevator.

Dramatic music plays as the three actress’ stare at each other and Kidman notes, “hot in here”.

Kidman and Robbie then exit the elevator on the 2nd floor and walk towards a private office room. Theron stays put but watches as the women walk away with a death stare. The 2nd floor is the executive suite at Fox News main office.

Title cards read throughout the trailer that read, “Based on the real scandal. What started with a whisper …Will end. With a Bombshell.”

Gretchen Carlson famously sued Ailes for sexual harassment, which caused him to resign from his post. She would later settle for a reported $20 million. Megyn Kelly accused Ailes of sexually harassment in her book “Settle For More”.

The teaser doesn’t reveal Roger Ailes, who will be played by John Lithgow. The movie also stars Kate McKinnon, Connie Britton, Mark Duplass, Rob Delaney, Malcolm McDowell, and Allison Janney.

“Bombshell” is scheduled to be released December 20.
