An Official Split

According to reports, Channing Tatum and Jessie J have broken up after about a year of dating.

A source told Us Weekly, "Channing Tatum and Jessie J broke up about a month ago. They are still really close and still good friends."

The couple had been relatively private, only posting about each other occasionally on social media. After attending one of her concerts in November 2018, Tatum wrote on Instagram:

"This woman just poured her heart out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoever was there got to witness something special. Wow."

A Private Relationship

Tatum posted about her occasionally, specifically a nude photo of himself with a cheeky caption:

"I lost a game of Jenga to Jessica Cornish,.The loser (me) had to post a picture the other person (Jessica Cornish) picked… Smh and fml… I’m never playing Jenga with her ever again… 🚿 + 🐰 📸 : @jessiej."

He also posted a sweet message to her on her 31st birthday:

"Wishing you the happiest day filled with all the love and all the light. You came into this world on this day and lit it on fire. You have blessed our eyes, our ears, our hearts and our lives. So thank you for just being you. You are so very special. Happy birthday Baby."

A Contentious Divorce

Tatum just went through a surprisingly contentious divorce with ex, Jenna Dewan. Splitting their assets and deciding on a custody agreement was a trial, with the former couple applying to be legally single before all of the details of the divorce were worked out.

In her book Gracefully You, Dewan opened up about why the couple split.

"I’d come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter. First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting."

Jenna Dewan On Their Break Up

Dewan explained that the public version of the couple was very different than the reality, and that conflict was part of why they split.

"I’d come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter. First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting. The public saw Channing and I in this idealized romanticized light. This made things difficult for me because I like being as honest and real as I can.

Here’s the honest truth about my breakup: Yes, I carried a rose quartz in my bra and yes, I took herbal supplements to help me heal, but also my mom flew in to be by my side and I called my friends late at night to sob into their ears. You need to embrace it all and allow everything positive and productive to be part of the process. It is very important to surround yourself with people who lift you up, make you feel love and appreciated."
