1. Concern Over His Absence

Between the unexpected return of Alec Baldwin as Trump and Aidy Bryant hilariously breaking character, the season 45 premiere of Saturday Night Live wasn't without its memorable moments. However, fans were talking about one thing in particular: Where was Pete Davidson?

Davidson has been very open about dealing with his mental health, particularly after his break up with Ariana Grande, so many fans were worried what his absence meant.

2. A Buzzy New Role

Luckily, Davidson has a good reason for skipping the premiere. He was one of the actors announced for James Gunn's reboot of The Suicide Squad, joining new faces like Idris Elba, John Cena, Taika Waititi, and Nathan Fillion. Original Suicide Squad faces set to return include Jai Courtney, Margot Robbie, and Viola Davis, so this new take on the antiheroes is shaping up to be a murderers row of talent.

3. Shooting Has Begun

Director James Gunn posted a picture of many of the cast members in Atlanta this weekend, including Davidson. The group attended an early showing of DC's _Joker), and principal shooting has already begun.

It's unknown what this role means for Davidson's SNL future, but at least it's clear that he's still thriving.
