Ed Sheeran Look Alike Gets Mobbed By Fans On Daily Basis

Celebrity look-alikes are always a fascination, and one man is making a living out of the fact that he looks exactly like Ed Sheeran. We’re not kidding when we say that there are identical twins that don’t look as much alike as this guy does to Ed Sheeran!
His Gift & His Curse
Ty Jones is a Manchester native that works full time as an Ed Sheeran Lookalike. As we mentioned though, his resemblance to the singer-songwriter is so surreal that he’s had to experience the bad part about literally being Ed Sheeran. He’s been mobbed by fans thinking that he’s the real deal. In a recent interview with Jam Press, Jones talked about those experiences.
“I’ve had crazy numbers of fans follow me in Hackney in London and in Los Angeles, to the point where the team I was working with have had to help me make a dramatic escape plan,”
How Bad Things Have Gotten
The fake Ed doesn’t regularly walk around with private security as the real one might on certain occasions. Just being out and about can be a full experience for Ty Jones. He mentioned in his recent interview that interactions with fans have gotten surreal pretty much on a regular basis. How would you feel if people literally cried and screamed when they saw your face? Yet, they were crying and screaming because they thought you were someone else! Jones detailed a couple of those fan encounters saying,
“Fans crying and shaking to a starstruck cyclist who couldn’t stop looking and they crashed their bike while still making eye contact.”
Not Really As Talented As The Real Ed Sheeran
Working as a doppelgänger has allowed Ty Jones to make a way better living than he would have been able to achieve in his former profession. He mentioned that he’d looked at getting a job on a fishing boat, or at a retail store. Now, he gets into restaurants as a VIP, and gets brands to send him all sorts of free stuff just because he looks exactly like Sheeran. Jones isn’t resting on his laurels and just relying on his looks to get gigs and free stuff. He mentioned that he’s been taking guitar lessons to try and upgrade his act.
Ed Is Aware Of His Existence
Ed Sheeran is very much aware of Ty’s existence. This pretty much means that he approves of Ty being able to make money off of looking like him. Although, we’re not sure exactly if Sheeran could stop Ty’s work even if he wanted to. Sheeran and Jones met back in 2011. With Sheeran acknowledging that looking at Jones was like looking into a mirror for him. The duo actually has plans to meet up again later this year. There’s an argument to be made that Ty Jones is the best look-like act ever just based on how much he really does look exactly like Sheeran!
