Read on to find out more about her role in the film.
What Role Does Ana De Armas Portray In The Movie?
Reportedly, Craig hand-picked Cuban actress Ana de Armas to star in “No to Die,” after working with her on the set of another movie back in 2019. He was allegedly impressed with her performance and recommended her to the producers of the James Bond franchise.
In the movie, Bond returns from retirement to help an old friend from the CIA hunt a mysterious villain, who plans to use a dangerous new technology for nefarious purposes.
De Armas plays Paloma, a CIA agent who assists Bond in this latest mission.
In a recent interview, De Armas described her character in the film as intense, stating that she performed in several complex action scenes in the movie.
“I really wanted to look like I knew what I was doing,” De Armas disclosed as a video showcased the actress taking part in stunt training.
What Other Role Has Ana De Armas Featured In?
The actress began her career in Cuban-Spanish movies and had leading parts in drama films such as “Una rosa de Francia” and “El Internado.”
De Armas later moved to Los Angeles and transitioned into English-speaking roles in movies like the 2015 thriller “Knock Knock,” comedy-crime blockbuster titled “War Dogs,” science fiction movie “Blade Runner 2049,” and a feature in the sports biopic “Hands of Stone.”
However, De Armas shot into Hollywood's limelight for her performance as nurse Marta Cabrera in Rian Johnson’s mystery film, “Knives Out.”
The film showcased her versatility as an actor as she switched effortlessly between comedy scenes and drama.
Her stellar performance earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination for the category of Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical.
Her Personal Life
In 2010, De Armas started dating Spanish actor, Marc Clotet. They tied the knot in Costa Brava, Spain in July 2011, and divorced in 2013.
After that, she got engaged to American talent agent Franklin Latt, and they dated for almost two years. Sadly, the relationship was also ill-fated, and they later parted ways in late 2016.
Her love life became one of the most talked-about topics on social media because of her whirlwind romance with fellow actor Ben Affleck.
The two met when they co-starred in the 2019 film “Deep Water,” and started dating almost immediately, only to break up in January 2021 after almost a year together.
Now, De Armas is reportedly dating Tinder executive, Paul Boukadakis and Affleck is in a relationship with singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez.
‘No Time To Die’ Is Daniel Craig’s Last Stint As James Bond
Fans are ready to bid Daniel Craig goodbye, as he has disclosed that “No Time to Die” would be his final chapter on the franchise. He is one of the most popular actors to ever portray a reincarnation of the ultimate British spy.
After several postponements of the release date due to the pandemic, expectations are soaring high, and fans are hoping they will be satiated with enough thrill, action, and drama in the upcoming movie.
In a recent documentary, Craig gave some insight into his journey while playing the hero of British service.
“I know there are a lot of things said about what I think of these films, but I’ve loved every single second of these movies,” Craig said. “And especially this one because I’ve got up every morning, and I’ve had the chance to work with you guys. And that has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”
