NeNe Leakes Debuts New Blonde Look And Opens Up About 'Pushing Through' After Husband's Death

NeNe Leakes is keeping her head high as she continues to deal with the death of her beloved husband Gregg Leakes.

On Thursday, September 16, NeNe took to her Instagram story to give her beloved fans an update about how she has been dealing with her loss, and while at it, she blessed fans with a sizzling new look.

The frames reality star switched things with a new hairstyle that made her look almost unrecognizable.

In the series of videos posted to her Instagram story, NeNe looked dashing in a wavy blonde weave that perfectly framed her beautiful face. As expected, the edges were well-laid.

Her face was glammed up to the nines with a matte dark brown lipstick, full brows, and light blush. The "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" star shared a better look at her new hair in an Instagram post.

However, it seemed as though she made use of a filter as she smiled sweetly while posing in her car.

Although the new look was the highlight of her post, NeNe drew the attention away from her looks when she explained the reason behind the transformation and got candid about how she has been coping with Gregg's demise.

The Bravo star told her fans that she decided to switch from her trademark black hair to blonde in order to cope with her new reality. In her words:

So I played in dark hair long enough. Now, that I'm having to adjust to my new life, my new normal, I thought I'd go back to blonde.

Going deeper into the details, NeNe revealed that she had a remarkable support system that has been helping her through the mourning process. She noted that they show up at her house daily to help her get her mind of things and as a result, she's been "pushing through."

Getting candid about how things have been faring, NeNe admitted that it hasn't been smooth sailing all the way. She said, "I have good days and bad days, but they say it's normal. So some days I'm up, some days I'm down."

She concluded, noting that she went to the salon before filming the video. Although she admitted that going to the salon wasn't a norm, she appreciated the presence of other women around her.

The Blast Previously reported that NeNe's husband passed away on September 1 after a battle with colon cancer. Gregg passed away at 66 in the early hours of the day after battling the devastating disease for the second time.

The heartbreaking news was shared by the Leakes family via a statement that revealed that Gregg "passed away peacefully in his home" surrounded by his kids, loved ones, and of course, NeNe.

Days before his demise, NeNe during at her lounge in Georgis confessed that her beloved husband was "transitioning to the other side." Days after Gregg's passing, NeNe paid a heartfelt tribute to her one true love.

She uploaded a tear-jerking video of them dancing intimately to Trey Songz's "It Would Be You." The couple we married twice for more than two decades and their relationship was often explored in RHOA.
