Coco Austin Reveals When She Plans To Quit Breastfeeding Amid Internet Backlash

Coco Austin is making a major change in her mothering career.

The wife of Ice-T has decided to stop breastfeeding her 5-year-old daughter, Chanel. Last week The Blast reported on her husband coming to her defense against Twitter trolls.

On Wednesday, August 4, the ‘Law & Order’ actor tweeted, “News flash! We feed Chanel FOOD… She just likes to suck moms b**b every now and then… Me Too!!!”

Fans took issue with his response and said it was ‘weird.’

One fan tweeted, “And that’s why it’s so weird. For you it’s sexual. How do you separate the two in your mind as a mother. Eww I wish my five year old would when she was five and can talk and go outside and play with friends then come in and touch my t***ies oh hell naw.”

Prior to Ice’s roast session on Twitter, Coco did an interview with Us Weekly where she explained her reason for continuing to breastfeed Chanel on occasion.

“Chanel still likes my boobs. It’s a big bonding moment for a mother and your child,” she told the outlet. “Why take that away from her? … If she doesn’t want it, all right, that’s where you stop it. But I’m not just going to say no.”

Coco is going on the record yet again in a brand new interview with E! News’ “Daily Pop” team.

On August 10, the mother-of-one appeared on the show with her daughter and opened up about her family life with Ice, Chanel and their four Bulldogs.

Coco said she doesn’t believe in the societal norms. The entire family co-sleeps together and that includes the four fur babies.

"We call it the family bed. We have all the dogs, Chanel, that's our bonding time together. We incorporate our family bed every single night. We co-sleep and that's another one people want to get on. It's weird situation because I don't know why I have to explain myself," she said.

Well, explain she did when it came to her reason for continuing to feed Chanel milk from her breasts.

"I just don't believe society says they should stop at two, you as a mother should stop because they said so" Coco explained about Chanel's age (5). "I'm [not] going to stop because I feel like it's a great bonding experience between her and I. She's my only child, it's not like I have a big family of kids, and so I'm savoring every moment with this child."

With that she asked Ice’s mini-me (they look identical) if she liked the boob.

Chanel replied with a smile and “yeah.”

Despite where they are now with their breastfeeding journey, Coco didn’t always plan to produce this long.

"I always thought I wasn't going to go on and on with this breastfeeding thing

"I thought I would stop more like around one. Then I loved it too much, and I'm like, 'I feel like I'm wanted, like she wants me.' I think a lot of mothers would understand," Coco admitted.
