Kelsey Grammer is not ready to let Spencer Pratt‘s mayoral loss go.

The actor recently admitted he is still trying to “make sense” of Pratt’s failed Los Angeles mayoral bid, joining a list of supporters who believed the reality star had a real shot at pulling off an upset.

Spencer Pratt has been dealing with the heartbreak of his early political life with his signature style of humor and defiance; however, his strong celebrity backing continues to speak on his behalf.

Grammer stated that he continues to have a problem grasping why Pratt failed to advance in the Los Angeles mayoral race. The actor told Us Weekly that Pratt’s campaign resonated with a lot of voters who are disgruntled with the lack of progress by the city’s leadership on key issues.

According to Grammer, Pratt’s campaign captured the discontent of those in the city and revealed, “deficiencies in the local political system.” He explained that the residents have been frustrated by how LA has been run and were looking forward to a different way of doing things.

The actor also mentioned the issues regarding the way the recent wildfires have been managed, indicating that there was a reason why voters are justified in wanting change.

Pratt seemed like he was in second place, but the final vote tally sent Nithya Raman into a runoff against current mayor Karen Bass, ending Pratt’s campaign.

Days after updated ballot counts pushed him out of the mayoral race, Pratt finally addressed the outcome online. Rather than issuing a lengthy statement, the reality star opted for sarcasm and asked a simple question, “Are they done counting yet?”

The Blast shared that Pratt’s post came after Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman overtook him in the race for the second position. While California’s ballot-counting process often takes days, projections increasingly showed Pratt’s path to the November election narrowing.

The former reality star’s campaign was based on frustration with city leadership and wildfire recovery efforts. He didn’t seem to be ready to concede, even as the odds stacked up against him.

Before breaking his silence, Pratt had already hinted that he was skeptical about the shifting election numbers. The reality star repeatedly questioned how the vote totals changed so dramatically as additional ballots were counted.

One of his most talked-about posts featured Russell Crowe’s character from “A Beautiful Mind” surrounded by equations. Pratt joked that he was trying to understand how votes were being counted as Raman surged ahead in the standings.

The defeat didn’t deter Pratt, however, and he was still reminding supporters that ballots were still being counted and deadlines for certification were still in the future. He openly questioned how the race evolved so rapidly, and it has since sparked more discussion among his supporters after his mayoral defeat.

In the days following the election, Pratt quietly stepped away from Los Angeles and was later spotted in Santa Barbara County with Heidi Montag. The outing came after Montag publicly declared she had never been prouder of her husband, praising the effort he poured into his mayoral campaign, as reported by The Blast.

Not long thereafter, a new controversy arose, making the loss seem insignificant. A fire broke out at Pratt’s crystal business, Pratt Daddy, prompting an investigation. The police have yet to find a cause, but Pratt stated in a public statement that he had doubts it was an accident and that there were still some questions unanswered.

But the drama did not end there. The cause of the election results was also a subject of discussion by Donald Trump, who doubted the integrity of the vote count and said that the Democrats were benefiting from the voting process. There was also some skepticism among other conservative commentators, with debate continuing over the final results.

Before Los Angeles voters headed to the polls, Karen Bass openly questioned whether Pratt was qualified for the city’s top job.

Speaking on the eve of the election, the mayor argued that voters were choosing between an experienced public servant and a reality TV personality with no governing record, as detailed by The Blast.

Bass also criticized Pratt’s grasp of city government and ridiculed his surge in the race. She challenged his qualifications, demanding experience with leadership, citing her own in office as proof.

Pratt, however, refused to back down and spent the final days of his campaign blaming Bass for failures he believed had hurt Los Angeles residents.

Looking back now, did Karen Bass see Spencer Pratt’s defeat coming long before the final ballots were counted?
