Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream have been red-hot in recent games, notching back-to-back wins over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever while improving to 11-4 on the season. Reese’s latest outing generated plenty of buzz after the WNBA All-Star became the fastest player in league history to reach 1,000 rebounds, accomplishing the feat in just 79 regular-season games. On Monday, June 22, the 24-year-old joined ESPN’s “SportsCenter” to reflect on her record-setting performance and discuss the Dream’s strong start to the season.

In her “SportsCenter” interview, Reese told Christine Williamson that while she reached the 1,000 rebound marker during her game against the Fever, she didn’t have time to celebrate the moment until after the game concluded.
For those who may have missed the contest, Reese and the rest of the Atlanta Dream put a smackdown on Clark and the Fever, defeating them twice in two days. The second matchup on June 20 finished with a score of 113-96, a franchise high for the Georgia-based WNBA team.
Angel Reese Opens Up About Playing In Front Of So Many A-Listers At State Farm Arena

Reese broke the WNBA record in front of a sold-out State Farm Arena on June 20. Among the attendees were WNBA legend Dawn Staley, rapper Latto, Dominique Wilkins, Clareesa Shields, and many more. The atmosphere was electric as the audience cheered the Dream throughout the game, especially in the second half, when Reese scored two buckets to put the Atlanta Dream ahead.
Reese described the moment, saying it felt “really good.” She went on to say that she and her teammates were “really excited” about the turnout, adding that playing in front of so many notable figures was “really fun.”
Angel Reese Reflects On The Team’s Chemistry In Atlanta

Reese was traded to the Atlanta Dream in April 2026 after a rocky end to her second season with the Chicago Sky. While chatting with Williamson on “SportsCenter,” Reese reflected on her new team’s chemistry, saying she believes they still haven’t reached their maximum potential yet.
“In June, we look so great,” she said. “I’m just wondering what we’ll look like in [the coming months]. … We’ve done such a great job. All five starters [are] averaging double figures, and then our bench is also so great. Karl [Smesko] is an amazing coach. The fans here are amazing. I don’t know how much better it’s going to look, but I’m excited for what it’s going to look like.”
Reese Says Playing With The Atlanta Dream Is Like A ‘Sisterhood’

The Dream are the third-best team in the league right now, sitting at 11-4. In addition to their hustle on the hardwood, Reese said that the team’s bond is one of the driving forces behind their success.
“It’s just like a sisterhood in the locker room,” she said. “Everybody, every day, is just looking to get better. We’re competing. Even when we do win, we always look at the little things that we could’ve been better on, and how we can be better for the next game.”
Reese continued, “It’s been great. We have a lot of fun [together]. There’s so much energy, it’s contagious. I really enjoy being here in Atlanta with the girls.”
Reese Is Playing In Brand New Reebok Sneakers

Reese broke the WNBA record in a pair of her signature sneakers, the “Angel Reese 1.” She wore the “Poison Angel” colorway during her last two games—a bright green kick with a shimmery finish.
“The Angel Reese 1 ‘Poison Angel’ colorway is bold by design,” said Reese, according to a previous report from The Blast. “It represents confidence, edge, and owning your space. This colorway is for anyone who plays fearlessly, stands out from the crowd, and isn’t afraid to be seen.”
Reese’s signature shoe initially launched with Reebok back in September 2025. It comes packed with noteworthy technology, including a TPU stability cup, traction and grip for the most versatile players, Reebok‘s signature Energy Return System (ERS), and, of course, a touch of Reese’s personal flair.
“… it’s my style, my story, and my stamp on the game,” Reese said about her line of signature shoes. “Reebok and I built something that’s true to who I am, and I hope it pushed others to stand in their power, too. At the end of the day, it’s built for basketball—made to move and perform at the highest level.”
