On a sad note, Caitlyn Jenner is having to deal with yet another loss, following the death of William Hasley, her close friend.
The ghostwriter was found dead last Saturday after attempts to rescue him were largely unsuccessful.
Notably, this heavy loss comes nearly a year after Caitlyn suffered another devastating loss, when her manager, Sofia Hutchins, lost her life in an ATV accident.
Caitlyn Jenner’s Pal William Hasley Was Found Dead Near Runyon Canyon
Hasley was recently identified as the hiker whose body was discovered near Runyon Canyon. The screenwriter was in Caitlyn’s close inner circle and was also the author of the book “Finding the Champion Within.”
The New York Post confirmed that LAFD Air Operations attempted to rescue him by providing medical treatment on site. However, he was soon pronounced dead.
Speaking about the writer, one of Hasley’s neighbors recalled seeing him “carrying groceries” before the incident occurred. “It’s very sad he had to die all alone like that,” the neighbor noted.
In his lifetime, Halsey was part of the creative masterminds behind many popular projects, including “Murder, She Wrote,” “Highway to Heaven,” and “Swift Justice.” He also worked closely with students at UCLA, helping them develop distinct styles in screenwriting and creative screenplays.
Although the writer’s cause of death is yet to be ascertained, the temperatures in the area where he was found hovered around mid-to-low 60s.
What Caitlyn Jenner Said About Grieving Her Close Friend, Sophia Hutchins

Halsey’s unfortunate death likely brings back jarring memories for Caitlyn, who suffered a similarly devastating loss just last year. The TV star’s manager tragically lost her life in an ATV accident that plunged her to the bottom of a ravine.
Caitlyn and Hutchins met in 2015 and formed a close friendship. According to The Blast, Caitlyn mourned Hutchins’s death, saying that it was “difficult” to grieve her close pal.
In the same breath, she extended her condolences to the families and victims of the mass shooting that had occurred within that period. The socialite was visibly emotional as she spoke on the subject, noting that the road to healing was still a long way off.
Sophia Hutchins Was Sober At The Time Of The Accident

The gory nature of Hutchin’s accident led to speculations that perhaps the late manager was intoxicated at the time of her demise. However, following her passing, the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed that her toxicology report came back clean.
The late manager was tested for benzodiazepines, an anti-anxiety medication. However, there were no traces of it in her system, per The Blast.
Notably, her cause of death was stated to be “multiple blunt force injuries,” which occurred after she lost control of her car and rear-ended another vehicle. This caused her to lose her balance and swerve off the road, down a cliff.
Caitlyn Jenner’s Manager Reportedly Owed Some Money At The Time Of Her Death

Following the tragic passing of Caitlyn’s manager, the former reality TV star revealed that Hutchins owed her nearly half a million dollars.
The Blast reported that Caitlyn filed a creditor’s claim against Hutchin’s estate in late 2025 in an attempt to recover the sum of $439,095.88, which she reportedly owed after asking for cash advances.
Caitlyn claimed that Hutchins spent about $242,491.20 on a site that sells “vintage, antique, and contemporary furniture.” She also listed other expenses at eBay, Fast Growing Trees, and Shopify.
Caitlyn Jenner Recently Came Under Fire For Voicing Her Concerns About A Passport Issue

Weeks after reports of Caitlyn’s creditors’ claim against Hutchin’s estate came to light, the reality TV star found herself at the receiving end of heavy backlash following some drama with her passport.
According to The Blast, Caitlyn noted that she was finding it difficult to travel across the borders of her country due to a discrepancy between the gender on her passport and the gender she identifies with
Despite working closely with government officials to change the gender in her documentation from male to female, Donald Trump’s executive order made her efforts largely unsuccessful. She repeatedly sent her passport back for a correction. However, Caitlyn noted in frustration that it came back with the gender marked as male.
This led to heavy backlash from many fans online, who urged Caitlyn to accept the predicament, as it was a direct result of her political views. One urged her to “Stay home and enjoy your vote,” and another noted that she got what she voted for.
