“Paid all that money just to not get a video of Wemby and banned from all NBA games,” one person wrote. Another added, “This was the worst second hand embarrassment I’ve ever experienced.” Another person shared, “I blame you for why the Spurs lost.”
What Wemby Had To Say After The Game

After the 105-95 loss, during the postgame press conference, Wemby was asked about the fan running up to him on the court and what was going through his mind.
“I’ve never been in that situation,” he said. “I didn’t know how to act. It really surprised me, almost as much as that time a bat crossed the court.”
Wemby also told reporters, “I think we let that one go,” regarding the loss of Game 1.
The NBA Takes Stunts Like This Very Seriously
According to Tim Reynolds, an NBA writer for The Associated Press, the fan who ran onto the court to get a selfie with Wemby will face serious consequences for his stunt.
“The individual who entered the court area during Game 1 of The Finals was arrested & will be banned for life from all NBA arenas,” his X post revealed. “A second individual will also receive a lifetime ban for his role in the incident.”
According to Yahoo!Sports, it’s a crime to enter a restricted area at a stadium in the state of Texas, where this event occurred. Possible misdemeanor charges can include criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, which are punishable with up to 180 days in jail.
