Mandy Moore‘s last pregnancy was a sheer miracle, and she is sparing no details!
The actress, who is not strange to several discourses on the journey towards motherhood, revealed that the contingency plan she thought she had to ensure getting pregnant surprised her in the best way possible.

Mandy Moore Revealed She Resigned To Fate After Failed IVF

During her appearance on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, the actress stated that she and her husband decided to give IVF a chance to expand their family.
According to Moore, the process was to serve as some form of insurance that would offer them flexibility by allowing them to freeze their eggs until they were ready for a baby.
“So, I did a round of IVF, and it was unsuccessful; we didn’t get any viable eggs or embryos. And I was like, okay, well, this just settles that. If this is something that is meant to be, it will happen naturally,” the actress noted.
She explained that she was so fulfilled with her two boys at the time after IVF failed, but life had a very pleasant surprise for her and her husband in the person of her daughter, Louise, nicknamed Lou. Moore noted that conceiving naturally was not top on her list, but it happened, and she is very glad about that.
The ‘This Is Us’ Actress Expressed Her Displeasure With The Healthcare System

Last year, The Blast noted that the actress detailed her experience as an older pregnant woman who had to deal with a lot of stereotypes in the health sector. The actress squashed the impression that women in their 40s have complicated pregnancies, adding that it is simply not true.
Moore noted that while she did not have so much to bother about in connection with her pregnancy, she did have issues navigating the health system, which treated her situation like a complicated or high-risk one.
The media personality noted that even after three pregnancies, she still discovered that women’s bodies are handled with such a lackadaisical attitude. The realization prompted her to partner with Perelel, which is focused on advocacy for women’s health.
Mandy Moore And Taylor Goldsmith’s Pets Prepared Them For Parenting

The 42-year-old recalled the moment that prepared them for the process of parenting during a discussion in 2023. According to her, they became pet parents to three rescue cats after their marriage in 2018, long before they welcomed their sons.
She noted that cats especially taught them an early lesson in navigating moods, personalities, and showing affection on their own terms.
Moore joked that with their cats, they did not know what to expect, and even when they returned from trips, their cats did not go crazy with excitement; instead, they would wait till they were ready and approach them.
On getting pregnant during the pandemic, Moore admitted in 2024 that it was far from easy, and she was mostly confused during that period because the PTSD from COVID-19 and the lockdown was intense. She, however, had her league of celebrity friends, including Hilary Duff, to lean on during the pandemic.
Moore’s Childbirth Experience Involved An Unliked Doctor

Despite her relatively smooth delivery, Moore had a frustrating delivery experience, which she spoke all about on the “That Was Us” podcast. The actress stated that a last-minute change in her birth plans had her working with a medical team she did not initially plan for.
As stated by The Blast, Moore said she had been scheduled to give birth at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles under the supervision of a midwife. However, only one midwife was available at the hospital, and she was obligated to work with a physician she was not comfortable with.
According to the actress, the atmosphere during labor became awkward; while the midwife was actively engaged, the doctor seemed to be drifting along. He had reportedly been casually scrolling through his phone, and Moore remembered asking himself if he was not enjoying himself there.
Her podcast co-hosts went on to tease her for not saying anything sooner about his behavior. Moore admitted that she was guilty as well, at the time, because she was in labor for a long time. Looking back, Moore said that her third visit to the delivery room was a surprising realization for her that she feels complete with her family.
Mandy Moore Opened Up About The Mean Mom Group Essay By Ashley Tisdale

The mother-of-three’s epic COVID friendship group also included “High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale, who published a scathing essay on The Cut in January about a toxic celebrity mom group she exited.
While Tisdale never mentioned anyone, all fingers pointed to Moore, Duff, and Meghan Trainor due to the closeness between them at the time. Reacting to the effect of the article on her, Moore disclosed that she found it deeply hurtful because it created a false narrative about her person.
The actress declared to Andy Cohen that due to her experience in the celebrity space for decades, criticism about her person and character felt very personal.
She concluded that it seemed very different from typical celebrity scrutiny, and what bothered her the most was the lack of kindness attached to her personality.
She continued that Tisdale’s confessions also reinforced a twisted narrative about female friendship groups, which often claimed that women cannot be supportive of one another.
