Tristan Thompson already has plans to come clean to his kids.

The former basketball player sat down for a lengthy chat with his ex, Khloé Kardashian, where they touched on a lot of topics about their past relationship, the future, and personal lives. During the conversation, the former lovers discussed whether to let the kids in on the reason their relationship delved out of the romantic space.

Tristan Thompson and Khloé Kardashian began their on-and-off relationship back in 2016. They welcomed two kids, True and Tatum, before finally calling it quits in 2021 due to a major paternity scandal.

Thompson and Kardashian discussed whether he plans to tell their kids about his cheating on the recent episode of the “Kholé In Wonderland” podcast. He shared that he plans to own up to his mistakes, which led to the end of their relationship, when it is the right time for True and Tatum to understand.

The former NBA star said that coming clean about his infidelity to the podcaster was not a question of if but when, stating that he has “definitely thought about that.” He added that sharing that part of his life with their kids has to come at the right age. 

In his words, “I think it just depends on which age we have this conversation. But I think it’s just more leading by just being accountable, and, depending on the age bracket of wherever they were at, then dive into it however I see fit.” 

As the conversation continued, Thompson stressed that “the most important thing is accountability,” and how much he loves Kardashian. The mom of two concurred, noting that leading their kids with truth was the best way to handle the touchy subject.

An off-camera producer chimed in on the conversation, asking the athlete if things would have worked out if he had met Kardashian later in life. In case you did not know, the pair met when Thompson was 25, and the podcaster was 31.

Thompson immediately responded, “Yeah,” sparking a surprising reaction from Kardashian. He explained further by saying that he always tells people his relationship with the mom of two, it was a simple case of “right person, wrong time,” not minding how cliché it sounds.

“We’ve had that conversation, but if I were the age I am now, or even a couple of years before, would our world look different? Probably so,” he continued before expressing his belief that everything happens for a reason.

As the hour-long discussion proceeded, Thompson touched on how he would feel if his ex stepped back into the dating pool.

He revealed that he hopes to travel past the news, though his response did not sit right with the Good American co-founder. “Guys, like, want to have such a problem with people moving on and dating, but like you guys cause all this,” she emphasized.

During the same podcast, Kardashian asked her ex whether he is considering having more kids in the future. Thompson, who is a father of four, including the two kids he shares with the reality TV star, said he believes any more kids he might have would only be full siblings of True and Tatum.

He noted that he has no interest in growing a family with anyone else, as he already has enough baby mamas. Thompson also shared that he got “neutered,” and Kardashian admitted to being the driving force for that decision.

The Blast reported that the pair discussed the chances of using their embryos, stating that the possibility of having children together still exists.

“The Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star disclosed that the ball was in her court on that because she has legal control over the embryos after Thompson signed them over to her.

One act that drove a deep wedge in Thompson’s relationship with the mom of two was when he kissed Jordyn Woods in 2019. Woods was a very close friend of his ex’s sister, Kylie Jenner, and that kiss also ruined their friendship.

Four years after the incident, Thompson owned up to his faults, apologizing to the then BFF’s for his mistakes. He acknowledged that he put himself in a situation that affected a lot of people and destroyed the bond between Jenner and Woods.

He also noted that prior to the kiss, Jenner and Woods were like “two peas in a pod,” but his actions made her lose a friend and a sister.

“It’s 100% on me. But I wanna say I’m sorry, and I feel bad about it,” he said, explaining that his actions stemmed from being young and stupid. As reported by The Blast, Jenner took positive cues from the messy situation, saying that the fallout was necessary for her individual growth.

Jenner admitted that at the time, she was so co-dependent on her bestie that they both needed to have space from each other to grow. While the situation was hurtful, they have since put it behind them, though maintaining a more distant relationship.

Kardashian recalled a time when she got into a real argument with her ex during an episode of her podcast in February. The incident occurred during a private date where Giveon was hired to perform.

Thompson had booked the musician to serenade her on a random day at her home, which was supposed to be a beautiful experience. While Giveon was performing, the mom of two recalled that she could not focus on his voice and enjoy the performance because she was so upset with the NBA champ.

“I remember like I hated Tristan, and I was like, ‘Why are you doing this?’ And Giveon is pouring his heart out. And Tristan’s trying to sit next to me, and I’m like, slapping him, and poor Giveon is still singing. It was mortifying,” she said. 

The Blast shared that the tension between the former lovers escalated to the point that she had to walk away from the little show back into her room because she was so annoyed. Giveon acted professionally, according to the Good American co-founder, and did not let their drama faze him from singing.
