“Teen Mom” star Ryan Edwards‘ wife is issuing apologies to the appropriate parties following the DUI drama.

Amanda Conner finally addresses the recent episodes she encountered in the past few weeks, which were apparently caused by an unfortunate incident of her addiction relapse.

Ryan Edwards wife was arrested on May 25 for driving in the wrong direction, alongside claims of child abuse by agents from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Conner took to TikTok on Wednesday, May 27, to share the truth about her recent relapse after three years of sobriety, which happened because she got too comfortable and subsequently let her guard down.

The reality star admitted in the emotional video that after three years of me putting in the work and getting her life together, she found herself battling with addiction again. 

According to Conner, addiction does not care how many people believed in the victim, nor does it care how long the victim has been clean. The reality star then expressed her gratitude to her fans and family for their support during her recovery. 

Conner added that while she feels “ashamed,” “guilty,” and “scared,” she will not let the relapse “define her story.” Fans will have to wait a few months for “real-life” effects of her actions, she said, as she shares her recovery journey publicly online. 

Conner promised that it will not be polished, but it will be “authentic, real, and raw.” The video concluded with Conner saying that she was going to consult a lawyer, which suggests legal issues may also be part of the fallout from her relapse.

Despite Conner’s apologetic tone in the TikTok clip, some fans trooped to the comment section with several points to note.

According to some TikTok users, Edwards’ wife still appeared pretty much intoxicated in the videos, although some commenters insisted it was just her being nervous and uncomfortable.

“You need to apologize to those babies, not us. Yes, we were rooting for you, but your choices in the end don’t affect us; it’s those babies,” a commenter noted.

Another TikTok user reassured the reality star’s wife that they will not judge her for acting human because addiction is not an easy lifestyle to get rid of.

The commenter commended Conner for taking the bold step to seek healing, advocate for treatment, and be self-aware enough of her actions to fall and get back up.

“I just gained too much respect for you after seeing this. ” You’re going to get through it,” this social media user stressed. While another TikTok user stressed, “Nah, Amanda, you owned it. We all make mistakes. Get back up, queen !!!!!! You got this !!! You inspire a lot.”

He admitted that years of substance abuse and legal troubles prevented him from being the father he wanted to be during Bentley’s childhood.

Conner then followed with an account of her experiences during treatment, alongside reflections on motherhood and recovery.

The reality star posted a heartfelt TikTok tribute alongside clips from her son Brandon’s ( her 12-year-old from an old marriage) birthday celebration, expressing gratitude for the life she has been able to rebuild through sobriety. 

Conner explained that overcoming addiction has allowed her to finally be fully present for her family and experience moments with her son that once felt impossible.

She credited sobriety for affording her the golden opportunity to create meaningful memories and consistently show up for the people she loves most. 

The emotional post comes months after Edwards’ wife regained full custody of Brandon in November, marking a major turning point in her recovery journey. 

As longtime fans know, the media personality lost custody of her son years ago amid her struggles with addiction.

E! Online shared in 2024 that Brookout and Conner set aside their differences for the sake of healing and growth. During an exclusive preview of a “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” episode, Brookout and Conner spoke at length about addiction, sobriety, and second chances.

During their meeting, Brookout explained that she no longer wants to judge people solely based on mistakes they made during difficult periods in their lives.

After years of tension with Edwards due to his addiction struggles, Brookout added that working toward a healthier co-parenting relationship has taught her the importance of letting go of resentment.

The emotional discussion quickly turned personal as Conner also opened up about the devastating losses that contributed to her relapse.

She revealed she had been nearly two years sober before both of her parents passed away, and she also watched her mother struggle with addiction and eventually begin using drugs.

Not long after her mother’s death, Conner stated that her father also got diagnosed with stage four bone cancer and passed away, leaving her emotionally drained.

She emphasized that it took years of hardship and painful lessons for her to finally realize she no longer wanted to live that way.

The drama with Conner did not end after her arrest, as she contacted the police just one day after the incident while she tried to retrieve her belongings from Edwards’ home.

The Blast noted that a conversation over dispatch shared on TikTok revealed that Conner called the authorities in the early hours on Monday, May 25, requesting assistance during her visit to her husband’s residence.

The caller reportedly identified herself as Amanda and claimed that her husband, called “Ryan,” had physically abused her in the past, hence her concern for safety. Responding officers were reportedly able to confirm the address connected to the call matched the couple’s residence.

As for her arrest the day before, audio from dispatchers at the scene revealed that a concerned husband had contacted police because he believed his wife may have been under the influence of drugs. The situation became even more serious when authorities reportedly learned an infant was inside the vehicle during the incident. 

As a result of these discoveries, Conner was slammed with a no-contact order involving the child and was temporarily barred from seeing or communicating with the infant ahead of her June 3 court appearance.
