Newly released autopsy findings have shed light on the death of Darrell Sheets, best known as “The Gambler” from “Storage Wars.”

The late reality TV star’s toxicology tests came back negative, with no drugs detected in his system, weeks after the Mohave County Medical Examiner ruled his death a suicide following an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on April 22.

According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, toxicology testing performed as part of the investigation came back negative.

Officials reportedly analyzed blood samples for multiple substances, including fentanyl, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and other drugs, but no drugs were detected in his system.

The report also included physical details noted during the examination, including several tattoos on Sheets’ body featuring a woman, the number 58, a joker, and a checkered flag.

Authorities noted that none of those findings contributed to his death, describing him in the report as a “well-developed, well-nourished adult male.”

The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office officially determined that Sheets died by suicide.

Sheets died at age 67 on April 22, following what authorities described as an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to a statement previously released by the Lake Havasu City Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Chandler Drive in Arizona during the early morning hours of April 22 after receiving a report of a deceased individual.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they reportedly discovered a man suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene before investigators from the department’s Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case.

Authorities later confirmed they were reviewing allegations that Sheets had been the target of online harassment in the weeks leading up to his death.

Before the incident, he had publicly confronted individuals he accused of cyberbullying him on social media.

Known for his aggressive bidding style and larger-than-life personality, he earned the nickname “The Gambler” and became widely recognized for his catchphrase, “This is the WOW factor!”

After stepping away from the series, Sheets later launched his own business venture called “Havasu Show Me Your Junk.”

Following news of Sheets’ passing, tributes poured in from colleagues, fans, and industry partners. A&E released a statement mourning the reality star, describing Sheets as a beloved part of the show’s family.

“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell’ The Gambler’ Sheets,” the network shared. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Former Associate Recalls Unusual Business Deal With Darrell Sheets Before His Death

Separately, a former associate of Sheets, Dusty Riach, later described a business deal that took place shortly before his death and struck him as unusual in hindsight.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Riach recalled that Sheets, known for aggressively negotiating every dollar, accepted a significantly lower offer than expected without pushing back.

He said Sheets had initially asked for around $125,000 for an estate collection but ultimately agreed to about $50,000.

Riach then noted that the lack of negotiation was highly unusual for someone who was typically “a fighter for the last dollar” in every deal.

“It wasn’t the buying and selling that was odd. It was really the interaction,” Riach said, noting that Sheets didn’t counteroffer as he normally would. “For Darrell not to come back at you, it’s just kind of weird.”

He added that a friend involved in the deal even commented at the time that Sheets’ response felt out of character, though it didn’t raise immediate concern. Looking back, however, Riach said it seemed like Sheets might have been “tying up his affairs,” especially after learning of his death.
