Sheets’ former “Storage Wars” co-star has opened up about a final interaction that, in hindsight, felt “odd.”

In an interview with Us Weekly, Dusty Riach recalled a recent deal involving Sheets and a mutual acquaintance.

While negotiating was nothing new for Sheets, who was known for pushing hard on every dollar, Riach said what stood out was how easily he accepted a much lower offer than expected, noting that “Darrell is not the type of person to just roll over on an offer.”

According to Riach, Sheets had been asking for $125,000 for an estate collection, but quickly agreed when the buyer offered $50,000.

The lack of back-and-forth struck both Riach and the buyer as out of character, especially given Sheets’ reputation as a “fighter for the last dollar in any deal.”

“For Darrell not to come back at you, it’s just kind of weird,” he said.

Riach added that the buyer later reflected on the moment, saying it almost felt as though Sheets was “tying up his affairs.”

Sheets even followed up with a call to reassure him about payment, which further added to the unusual tone of the exchange.

Reflecting further on their last deal, Riach said the interaction felt unlike he’d experienced before with Darrell Sheets.

He recalled how they would typically argue over even small amounts: “Even the last watch deal I did with Darrell, we were bickering over like $50 with each other. So I would say this was 110 percent fully out of character for him.”

Sheets died on April 22 at the age of 67 from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed he was found at his home in Arizona.

The reality TV star, who previously opened up about his struggles with depression, is survived by his children, Brandon and Tiffany.

Best known for his role on “Storage Wars,” Sheets appeared in over 160 episodes between 2010 and 2023, earning the nickname “The Gambler” for his instinct-driven bidding style.

After stepping away from the show, he settled in Arizona, where he ran an antique store called Havasu Show Me Your Junk.

Meanwhile, fellow cast member Rene Nezhoda suggested that cyberbullying may have been a factor in Sheets’ death.

In a video shared on Instagram, Nezhoda claimed Sheets had recently been targeted online by someone who had been “tormenting” him, adding that he hoped authorities would investigate the situation thoroughly.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed it is aware of the allegations, stating that the cyberbullying claims are being considered as part of an “active investigation.”

Nezhoda also addressed fans directly, reminding them that watching someone on television does not mean understanding their personal struggles.

He urged people to be more mindful of their actions, emphasizing that online harassment can have serious real-world consequences.

Nezhoda added, “If you have somebody in your life that thinks it’s funny to cyberbully other people … slap them in the back of the head. Make them become a better human being, because you never know what demons somebody faces and what they go through and what you might push them through.”
