Spencer Pratt is singing his wife, Heidi Montag‘s, praises for holding down the fort while he chases his political dreams.

The former reality TV star recently sang his wife’s praises for her contribution to his aspirations, which may go unnoticed to many. She has been by his side through thick and thin, from their days on television, to losing their home in the tragic wildfire, and now as he runs for a chance to serve the city of Los Angeles as Mayor.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag met two decades ago and tied the knot in 2008. The pair’s relationship has not been a bed of roses, but they stuck together to build a family with their two sons, Gunner and Ryker.

Pratt gave Montag her accolades in a recent interview, where he revealed his hopes of becoming the next Mayor of Los Angeles would have gone down the drain if his wife were not by his side.

He noted that she has played a pivotal role in ensuring his campaign goes smoothly by taking care of other responsibilities that may distract him.

“Heidi is an actual angel superhero. She is working so hard to continue putting out new music and paying for our kids’ food and working so hard to be, you know, the single [breadwinner],” he explained.

The aspiring Mayor continued describing his wife as a “power woman boss” who takes care of the bills while being a full-time mom to their sons.

The former MTV star stressed that, besides the physical and financial support, Montag also supports him in prayers. She is his “prayer warrior,” channeling her faith into his purpose.

Pratt revealed that his wife assures him that his dreams align with God’s plan, and this assurance relieves pressure and helps maintain his sanity.

Pratt hopped on the Mayoral bandwagon in January, and according to him, this decision has shifted how present he can be as a father. “The hardest part, period, is just not seeing my kids. I was a really hands-on dad,” he revealed in his US Weekly cover story.

Reflecting on life before his political aspirations came into the picture, Pratt shared, “Heidi and I would take them to school in the morning and pick them up [before] soccer practices, soccer games. Not being with my kids anymore has been the most difficult.”

He noted that Montag has picked up the slack with the kids, “busy being a mom,” and allowing him to focus on the work outside the home.

Later in the interview, the former reality TV star reflected on his relationship with the love of his life. Looking back, he noted that it is fascinating how far they have come as a couple, thriving through the ups and downs they’ve faced over nearly 20 years since they first locked eyes.

Inside Spencer Pratt And Heidi Montag’s Love Story

The lovebirds met in 2006 at a nightclub while Montag was filming “The Hills” and she described the moment as love at first sight. Pratt was then cast on the hit MTV series, and their relationship played out on the screen for six seasons.

In 2007, cameras showed the aspiring Mayor giving his beau a promise ring on a beach in Santa Barbara. The footage made many fans swoon over their puppy love.

The following year, they took a trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, where they quietly tied the knot. In April 2009, they remarried in an evening ceremony at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, California. Unlike their first wedding, the second one had many of their co-stars in attendance.

In 2010, their relationship hit a rocky patch, and Montag fired Pratt, whom she had hired in 2006 as her manager. “The time for change is now. Never mix business and pleasure. We are no longer Speidi but Spencer and Heidi,” part of her statement at the time read.

That same year, the couple filed for separation, with Montag telling PEOPLE that she needed space even away from her husband.

They filed for divorce in July 2010 but called it off in September, saying they realized they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together because they still loved each other.

Pratt and Montag renewed their wedding vows in November and welcomed their first child, Gunner, nearly seven years later.

The couple and their sons had to flee their home, panicking, last year as the wildfire advanced. Montag previously described the overwhelming moment when they had to run for their lives with close to nothing to their name.

In that moment, the Mayoral candidate told his wife to grab whatever she wanted to keep before they evacuated, but it seemed like an impossible decision because there were so many irreplaceable items in their home.

The wildfire destroyed the four walls of their house, but also revealed how much the reality TV stars were struggling financially.

The mom of two disclosed that they were working very hard to maintain their lifestyle. Twelve months after losing the roof over their head, she shared that they did not have the financial means to rebuild their home.

“Unfortunately for rebuilding, we just don’t have the finances. We could barely pay the mortgage on that house,” Montag said.

The Blast also reported that the financial constraint cut across other homeowners in the region, especially because most people inherited their houses or bought them “40 or 50 years ago when it was a much cheaper part of LA.”

A Spencer Pratt Win Would Be A Win For Many

Apart from Montag, many other supporters have expressed how joyful it would be if Pratt emerges victorious in his pursuit of the Mayor of L.A. seat.

Several entertainers have been vocal in supporting the father of two, using their platforms to encourage fans to vote for him and even donating to his campaign.

Recently joining the list of supporters is Kyle Kuzma, a professional basketball player, who showcased his support for Pratt with a shocking bet. He revealed on X that he had placed a $36,000 bet on the former reality TV star winning the June 2 nonpartisan primary.

The Blast reported that, according to the shared screenshot of the bet, he claimed he could have a massive payout of $133,588.89 if Pratt won. “For my parlay papis I’m going big on @spencerpratt,” Kuzma captioned the post.

The post did not sit well with many netizens, who dragged him for staking such a huge amount of money that could have been channeled into other avenues. Some fans, however, applauded Kuzma for supporting Pratt.
