Katharine McPhee seems to have been left with more questions after Chrishell Stause‘s recent jab.

The “Selling Sunset” alum took what seemed like a long-standing beef to the streets of Instagram, which has left McPhee confused about where all of it is coming from.

Katharine McPhee and Chrishell Stause’s feud was sparked by the former’s very public support of Spencer Pratt on his run for Mayor of Los Angeles due to Pratt’s connection with conservative platforms.

What Was Katharine McPhee’s Response To Chrishell Stause?

McPhee snuck into E! News’ comment section with a response to the highlighted quote from Strause, which stated that one day McPhee will experience an intense level of self-discovery.

However, she added a caveat that such a day may never come until the actress is disregarded by the problematic men she supports.

An observer curiously asked in the comments, “What did Katharine McPhee say?” To which McPhee responded, “Honestly, I have no idea. I am just as confused about this controversy as you lmao.”

McPhee’s response comes after Strause slammed her for being vocal about her support for Pratt. The endorsement from McPhee happened during a fundraiser at her and David Foster’s home in Los Angeles.

Strause earned praise for her rebuttal of McPhee’s character in the comments, with several Instagram users describing the former as wonderfully outspoken with really intelligent opinions.

However, she also earned knocks for trying to speak on McPhee’s relationships, especially when she has made great choices of partners herself.

“Chrishell also believes her partner is a they/them, when there are two genders…. Anything she says or believes is laughable at this point,” a commenter stated.

Earlier this month, McPhee and Foster opened their Brentwood Park home in Los Angeles for a fundraiser in support of Pratt.

During the event, Foster played piano while McPhee performed a customized version of Tina Turner’s classic hit “The Best,” altering the lyrics to praise Pratt.

Video clips from the fundraiser later made rounds online, including a moment where McPhee sang that Pratt was better than Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and councilmember Nithya Raman.

The Blast shared that performance consequently attracted attention after McPhee accidentally referred to Raman as “Cynthia,” proving that she briefly forgot her name.

Meanwhile, Stause has publicly kicked back against the idea of Pratt stepping into politics, affirming that while she enjoys him as a reality TV figure, she does not believe entertainment personalities belong in government.

The media personality urged California voters not to support more reality stars entering political office.

The American actress did not get away with praising Pratt, as social media users felt her public support of Pratt was cringeworthy.

According to these commenters, they were left in utter disbelief that a former controversial reality star is being touted as the next best thing politically.

More social media users continued that records have shown that rooting for wealthy television personalities to win elections is a slippery slope because they almost always turn out to be incompetent.

The commenters stressed that the fundraiser was not a good look for McPhee and her husband, describing it as nothing but a disgusting display of wealth, as he has done nothing to deserve a political position.

The MTV Alum has put some measures in place to ensure that he is still connected to his roots as a reality TV star even when he gets to the mayor’s office.

As reported by The Blast, Pratt reportedly signed a deal with Boardwalk Pictures to document his journey towards becoming a politician. 

He has reportedly also put measures in place to ensure that the cameras stay on even after he is elected to become the mayor of Los Angeles.

Sources added that the contract will make provisions for a show that would capture his life as a family man during his potential tenure serving as a confluence of his public service and his media career.

However, the production company and Pratt are yet to determine what it would cost to ensure the logistics of filming while occupying the seat of power if he wins in November.

Katharine McPhee’s Husband Was Slammed Over Weight Comment

Two years ago, Foster used the term “fat” to describe his wife during a concert, which raised eyebrows from internet users who knocked him for failing to consider her eating disorders.

The resurfaced clip featured Foster remarking on McPhee’s appearance during her days on “American Idol.”

During the performance, McPhee recalled meeting Foster while competing on the show’s fifth season in 2006 and jokingly described herself at the time as “a little chubby.”

McPhee’s husband then looked at a photo of her displayed on screen and bluntly commented that she had been “fat,” erupting laughter from people seated in the audience. 

McPhee seemingly did not give her husband’s thoughts the time of day as she dismissed it and then clarified that she was simply younger and slightly fuller at the time. The clip also went viral on TikTok as many viewers criticized Foster’s comment and defended McPhee. 

Several social media users expressed disbelief over the remark, as some tagged it hurtful and inappropriate, insisting that McPhee never appeared overweight in the first place.
