New reports suggest Prince Harry has become increasingly reflective about his children’s upbringing in the United States. Harry shares two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with his wife, Meghan Markle. Both are currently being raised in the US, where the couple relocated after stepping down as working royals in 2020.

The move brought major changes in schooling, lifestyle, and surroundings compared to the environment most royals traditionally grow up in, with insiders now claiming Harry has started questioning what his children may be missing out on.

Prince Harry Said To Miss Close Family Life For Archie And Lilibet

Harry and Meghan’s move to the US in 2020 came with the unavoidable reality that their children would be raised far from the environment most royals are traditionally accustomed to.

On the surface, everything appears well, as seen in Meghan’s recent posts showing Archie’s birthday celebrations and family moments in the U.S. Harry has also previously spoken positively about raising his children in America, believing it aligns more closely with the kind of life his late mother, Princess Diana, would have wanted for him.

However, behind the scenes, sources now claim Harry is “deeply saddened” that living in California has distanced Archie and Lilibet from the close-knit family life enjoyed by Prince William and Princess Kate’s children.

According to an insider, Harry’s deep reflection was likely influenced by recent viral images of William and Kate’s children.

The source claimed that the photos reminded the Invictus Games founder of the close childhood bond he once shared with his brother before their relationship became strained and he eventually relocated to the United States.

Harry is now said to be hopeful that Archie and Lilibet can “form similar lifelong friendships and experiences to those he had during his education in Britain.”

To that end, the Duke has reportedly already begun discussions with Meghan about their children’s education plans and how closely connected they should remain to royal life.

Publicly, Harry has already made it clear that he wants his children to visit the UK in the near future. The Duke hinted at this last year during an interview shortly after seeing his father for the first time in nearly two years.

“Yes, I would,” Harry said when asked about bringing Archie and Lilibet to Britain, per PEOPLE Magazine. “This [visit] has definitely brought that closer.”

Months before making those remarks, Harry had also opened up about how much he missed the UK and admitted that the removal of his automatic police protection while visiting Britain had complicated the possibility of bringing his children along.

“I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK, of course I do,” he said at the time. “I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

Ahead of the Invictus Games in 2027, Harry is reportedly hopeful that his wish to bring Archie and Lilibet back to the UK could happen through an invitation from the King.

Such an invitation would help ease concerns surrounding Harry’s security situation, making it easier for him to travel alongside his family.

“If he [Harry] was invited by the King, he would get a security package that automatically kicks in,” a source told The Times in March.

“He’d like an invite to Sandringham. Would he go? It would depend who was there. If the King was to say ‘Come up and spend some time with the family,’ he’d love that,” the insider added.

Also of importance to Harry is the completion of his reconciliation with his father. Hopes for progress were sparked after the Duke shared a warm visit with the monarch last year, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

Concluding the reconciliation process would pave the way for Charles to attend, perhaps even open, the Invictus Games.

“Harry desperately wants Charles at Invictus, and he wants him to open the games alongside him,” a different source said. “Harry wants it to happen both for the games and for their relationship. It’s his dream to have his father by his side.”
