Addison Rae‘s dad is back in cuffs, but this time for possessing hard substances.

Monty Lopez‘s arrest comes just days after it was reported that he had a visit from the authorities at his Louisiana home. The cops showed up, not in relation to the drug case, but because they received a call about a mental health complaint.

While Addison Rae’s career thrives with increased social media presence, her dad continues to make headlines due to his legal troubles, which have spanned from an ongoing felony case to custody brawls with his ex-wife over his youngest child.

Addison Rae’s Dad Adds Another Charge To His Name 

The cops might be slowly becoming Rae’s dad’s favorite people, as he keeps getting arrested. Monty Lopez was recently taken into custody for possessing a large amount of marijuana just days after the cops came to his residence in response to a mental health call. 

The jail records show that Lopez was booked on Tuesday, April 28, for a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He posed for his mugshot in an orange shirt, Ironic! TMZ reports that it appears that the father of four is currently behind bars.

This charge joins the queue of his pre-existing case with the authorities. Five days ago, the cops showed up at his residence for a mental health complaint, which reportedly led to his current arrest. Sources familiar with the situation disclose that the matter has moved up from a mental health complaint to a criminal investigation.

Inside The Recent Mental Health Complaint 

The Lafayette Police authorities paid a visit to Lopez’s home on Thursday evening. Not one or two but multiple cop cars were parked outside on the curb of the online sensation’s father’s home in L.A. According to previous reports, the police officers promptly rushed to the scene upon receiving the call.

The obtained footage shows that there were no policemen outside in the cars, seemingly because all hands were on deck handling the situation inside Lopez’s residence. Law enforcement sources did not provide in-depth details about the situation, but revealed the time they received the mental health distress call. 

The call was made to the authorities just after 4 p.m. from someone inside the home, but it was not disclosed who made the call or for whom. Lafayette Police Spokesperson Sgt. Robin Green shared that there was an active investigation into the matter.

Monty Lopez Was Previously Accused Of Physical Abuse

The issue was brought to light during his custody battle against his ex-wife, Sheri Nicole Easterling, over their youngest son, Lucas. The Blast reports that Easterling alleged that her ex-husband was verbally and physically abusive towards her and their children over the course of their relationship.

She brought up the claims while requesting for primary custody of Lucas and asked the judge to order Lopez to pay child support and have scheduled supervised visits. Easterling backed up her claims with examples of past incidents where the father of four had raised his hands against the kids and herself.

Rae’s mom alleged that on different occasions, when she rejected his sexual advances, her physically hurt her. She cited an instance in 2018 where Lopez allegedly “beat her with a pillow and held it over her face so she couldn’t breathe” because she refused to make love with him. Easterling claimed that his violent nature did not just begin in recent years.

According to the court documents, the mom of four claimed that her ex-husband slapped his daughter, Rae, across the face for talking back to him in 2008. Another time, in 2005, he allegedly violently pushed his ex-wife and squeezed her neck with his hands.

The 50-Year-Old Is Also Facing Charges For A Sexual Crime

There is an ongoing case against Lopez for an incident that occurred nearly two years ago. He was arrested on July 27, 2025, for the alleged incident that occurred over a year before his arrest. The accusations against him state that he intentionally exposed his private parts in public.

The court documents show that the TikTok superstar’s father, whose actual name is Manolito Juan Lopez, intentionally” exposed “his genitals, pubic hair, in a public place or place open to public view, or in any prison or jail, with the intent of arousing sexual desire or which appealed to the prurient interest or was patently offensive.” Page Six reports that his bond was listed at $2,500 and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges at his arraignment last September.

The charges were listed both as an obscenity, which is a felony, and a sex crime. His last hearing took place on March 19, and the case is still active. The news of the case has brought negative attention for Rae, as it came just weeks after she was nominated as Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Rae has yet to comment on her father’s legal troubles.

While the media personality has maintained silence on her in-house legal issues, especially involving her parents, she did not hold back on the political issues involving immigration laws. Last year, she took to her Instagram stories to express her stance, which seemed shocking to fans who previously viewed her as a Trump supporter.

“I’m so disappointed and disturbed by what is happening across our nation,” Addison Rae wrote. “This country could not exist without immigrants. Every human being deserves the right to exist in an environment that makes them feel safe, lovingly protected, and embraced.” Some fans called Rae’s statement a show of hypocrisy as she was caught on camera in 2021 greeting Donald Trump at UFC 264 in Las Vegas.

Other internet users brought up her past political details, revealing that the singer registered to vote as a republican in 2019. The Blast reported that, still in 2021, Rae clarified her stance about Trump and the viral footage of her greeting him at the event. I mean, I don’t support Trump. And if someone does, that’s their opinion, and I respect everyone’s opinion, for each their own,” she stated before adding that she only introduced herself for the sake of formality.
