It’s cops, lights, and sirens for Addison Rae‘s dad.

The popular TikToker’s father has become a regular with the authorities after several cases tied to his name that previously made headlines. Monty Lopez has been arrested in the past on a felony obscenity charge and also has a legal brawl with his ex-wife, Sheri Nicole Easterling.

Addison Rae’s dad’s custody battle over their youngest son, Lucas, turned messy after questions of his paternity arose. The online personality’s father’s several feuds have sparked some controversy in the media, leaving fans with questions.

The Police Were Guests At Addison Rae’s Dad’s Residence

Patrol cars were seen outside Rae’s father’s home in Louisiana on Thursday evening. The reports show that multiple cop cars were parked on the curb outside Monty Lopez’s home in Lafayette, L.A., after the authorities seemingly rushed to the scene. 

The footage obtained by TMZ also shows that there were no cops outside in the cars, supposedly because all the officials were handling the situation inside the home. A spokesperson for the authorities partially disclosed the reason the cops showed up at Monty’s home.

Lafayette Police Spokesperson Sgt. Robin Green told the news outlets that their presence at the online personality’s dad’s residence was due to a call they received from inside the home. Just after 4 P.M. that Thursday, someone called to log a mental health complaint. Law enforcement sources did not provide many details about the situation but said there is an active investigation into the matter. 

Monty Lopez Has An Active Case With The Authorities

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana claimed he “expos[ed] his genitals, pubic hair, in a public place or place open to public view” in 2024. Monty pleaded not guilty to the charge, and the case is active.

The court documents allege that Lopez was “exposing his genitals, pubic hair, in a public place or place open to public view, or in any prison or jail, with the intent of arousing sexual desire or which appealed to the prurient interest or was patently offensive.” The incident reportedly occurred on August 31, 2024, and the charges are listed as felony obscenity and a sex crime.

The media personality’s father’s bond was set at $ 2,500, and his recent court hearing is scheduled for March 19 as the case moves forward. Seven months after Lopez’s arrest for the alleged crime, Easterling filed for sole custody of their youngest son, Lucas, increasing his legal battles yet again.

As reported by The Blast, Easterling filed to become Lucas’s primary caretaker, requested child support, and supervised visits for Lopez. She claimed that her ex-husband had been verbally and physically abusive towards her and the kids during their years together.

The mom of four further cited an instance in 2008 where Lopez allegedly slapped Rae “across the face with an open hand for talking back to him.” According to Easterling, the abuse dates far back to 2005 when her ex-husband violently pushed her and squeezed her neck with his hands. The media personality’s mom also claimed that Lopez got violent with her over the years for refusing his sexual advances.

In 2018, he allegedly “beat her with a pillow and held it over her face so she couldn’t breathe” when she refused to get into bed with him. The former lovers had a tumultuous relationship. They first got married in  2004, then divorced in 2017, remarried in 2018, and then divorced for good in 2022 after allegations that he had a five-month affair with a 25-year-old woman named Renée Ash made waves.

Monty Lopez Allegedly Promised To ‘Have Babies Together’ With Ash 

Ash broke her silence in July 2022 after allegedly having a five-month affair with Rae’s father, who “misled [her] on his marriage.” She disclosed that the father of four lied to her, assuring her that his marriage to Easterling was over when it was not, and told her they “were going to be together and have babies together.”

“He even introduced me to his mom, his youngest brother, and I thought we had something real. He told me a story of his marriage that convinced me that they were apart and in the process of getting a divorce,” the then 25-year-old continued in an exclusive interview with Page Six.

Ash shared that she broke up with the influencer’s dad after reports flew that he was hitting on younger girls physically and online, including a video of Lopex allegedly caressing a 19-year-old girl’s backside during a night out partying. Ash then apologized to Easterling, Rae, and his young sons, explaining that her actions toward Lopez stemmed from her belief that they were in love.

Screenshots of alleged text messages and WhatsApp exchanges were released, which illustrate the promises Lopez allegedly made to Ash about their future. Evidently, he bragged about their relationship as a “power couple” in several screenshots and planned to move in with her, get married, and start a family.  

Addison Rae’s Dad Agreed To A Paternity Test

As their custody battle lingers, Lopez agreed to submit a sample for DNA testing to determine if he is the father of Lucas amid his ex-wife’s request for primary custody. As reported by The Blast, Easterling was the one who filed a petition requesting the test, and the influencer’s dad agreed.

A Louisiana judge signed off on the agreement, which stated that the mom of four would cover the full cost of the test until the outcome is determined. The request for the DNA test raised eyebrows as it was an unusual turn in such legal battles. In most cases, the father often questions the paternity of a child and conventionally requests medical proof.

However, with Easterling’s request and the court order requiring Lopez to submit the sample within days of the order’s issuance, the results may shed some light. The results of the test are intended to legally solidify paternity for child support, which she requested Lopez pay, and final custody arrangements, including supervised visits.
