Applegate has been vocal about her multiple sclerosis since her 2021 diagnosis, even sharing TMI details about her health. The Blast reported in March 2025 that Applegate had opened up about the unflattering side of the neurodegenerative disease.

During the episode of her podcast, Applegate revealed that she often threw up whenever she used the restroom. She shared the details while responding to a fan who complained about having frequent diarrhea and vomiting issues amid their MS battle.

Applegate believed there was a link between stomach problems and MS despite doctors not being convinced of one. She claimed she had been admitted to the hospital for symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and pain in her stomach at least 30 times.
