XERF at Flawless Medspa

If you’re on TikTok, you’ve likely come across a video or ten about the viral aesthetic treatment that celebrities swear by. XERF, the buzzy aesthetic skin tightening treatment, reportedly favored by Kim Kardashian, is taking over the internet and the world of skincare and anti-aging. The treatment is all about skin rejuvenation and visible tightening results with no downtime, making it especially appealing to those looking for high-impact treatments without a lengthy recovery period.

I’ve seen a lot about XERF online lately and being an aesthetics-loving girlie myself, when the opportunity came for me to try it out, I jumped. I’ve done RF microneedling, regular microneedling, Sofwave, and filler in the past, so XERF seemed like the next logical thing to try. I went to Flawless Medspa in Las Vegas and had my first XERF treatment done earlier this week. While I have a second treatment scheduled for mid-May, I can share what the experience was like and what changes I’ve seen so far in case you’re wondering if it’s worth all the online hype.

XERF Is The ‘It’ Aesthetic Treatment Celebs Swear By

XERF is a skin tightening treatment that uses advanced radiofrequency technology to stimulate collagen and improve skin elasticity, which in turn delivers a smoother, more lifted look. Some people even call is a “non-invasive facelift.” Of course, you won’t get the same results from a radiofrequency treatment as you would an actual surgery, but it’s something that many can benefit from who aren’t thinking it’s time to go under the knife.

The full-face treatment takes about an hour and is comfortable. It’s so comfortable that there’s no numbing necessary for this treatment. Some spots might feel a little warmer than other spots, but it’s nothing that would make you rethink the process and why you’ve voluntarily decided to do this.

Melanie Speed Of Flawless Medspa Shared Information About XERF

Celebrity aesthetic injector and owner of Flawless Medspa in Las Vegas and Beverly Hills previously sat down with The Blast to share some information about the newer treatment that has everyone talking.

“XERF is one of the newest non-surgical skin-tightening treatments from Korea that uses dual-frequency monopolar radiofrequency to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin,” Speed told The Blast exclusively. “As we age, our collagen naturally breaks down, which is what causes sagging and loss of firmness. XERF safely delivers heat into the deeper layers of the skin, which triggers your body to produce new collagen and elastin.”

This process helps to tighten the skin, create a more lifted, refreshed look, and improve texture, all without an invasive surgery. Speed said this is perfect for people who want to “maintain their skin and stay ahead of aging” as well as for people who want improvement without surgery and a lot of downtime.

Celebrities And Influencers Are Helping To Push The Popularity Of This Treatment

Celebrities and beauty influencers are jumping on the XERF bandwagon and sharing their experiences and results online, which is helping to push the popularity of the treatment.

Kim Kardashian posted about her XERF experience, calling it her “new fave tightening treatment” in an IG Story. “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Jennifer Pedranti also shared her XERF experience in a TikTok video recently.

“People are really shifting toward treatments that stimulate collagen and improve the skin in a natural way. Patients want results that look refreshed and youthful without looking like they’ve ‘had work done,’” Speed said. “Celebrity culture definitely plays a role in bringing attention to new treatments, but what really drives popularity is results.”

My Turn To Try Out XERF And See If It’s Worth The Hype

When I first heard about XERF, I was immediately committed to giving it a shot. No pain, no downtime, and noticeable results? Sign me up!

I’ve done multiple other aesthetic treatments — microneedling, RF microneedling, Sofwave — and always see slight improvements. But some of these treatments aren’t painless. With both microneedling and RF microneedling, you do get numbed ahead of the treatment, but with Sofwave, you do not. And even with the numbing cream ahead of time, you still do feel some spots of pain during the treatment.

Hearing that XERF is a more comfortable treatment and that most people just feel a little bit of warmth was appealing all in itself. Just because the saying is “beauty is pain” doesn’t mean we need to purposely put ourselves through pain to get the job done. (Or at least, try to go the painless route every now and again.)

I finally had my first XERF treatment earlier this week, and I’m ready to spill the beans on whether or not I personally feel it’s worth the time and money.

I’ll Be Doing Another XERF Treatment Next Month

The whole treatment took about an hour. At Flawless Medspa, as with most other med spas, they first take some before pictures from all angles. After that was done, it was time to go to the treatment room and get ready.

From the very beginning, everything was explained thoroughly and there was never any level of discomfort (physically or otherwise). If you’ve ever had any aesthetic treatment done — Botox, filler, microneedling, lasers, etc., you know that that first time can be scary with the fear of the unknown, but XERF didn’t have any feelings of uncertainty attached to it.

Immediately after finishing one side of the face, there’s a moment of comparison so you can see any subtle changes already. After the treatment is done, after pictures are taken to compare. It’s recommended to have a second XERF treatment done about 4 to 6 weeks after the first, so I booked my next one for mid-May. After that, you can do this once or twice a year for maintenance.

Did I see any changes immediately? I did! They were subtle, but that just tells me that I’m going to see more changes over the course of the next few weeks. Typically, the magic happens a few weeks after treatment, so I’ll be watching closely to see what I notice between now and my second appointment and beyond. Did it hurt? Not at all. There were a few spots that were warmer than others, but it’s a momentary discomfort rather than pain.

So far, I’m pleased with the whole experience and totally recommend trying this if you are on a quest for anti-aging treatments.
