Can Lil Tjay completely wash his hands off this Offset episode?
The rapper was linked to the brawl outbreak that led to Cardi B’s estranged husband getting shot on Monday, April 6, at a casino in Florida, leaving him with injuries.
Offset and Lil Tjay had a documented history of several back-and-forth publicly after he claimed that the former MIGOS rapper had a gambling addiction and was broke in January 2025.
Lil Tjay’s Alleged Role In Offset’s Shooting Explained
The cops explained in their probable cause affidavit that at around 7:22 PM on Monday, April 6, Tjay directed members of his squad to start a fight with a rival group of males at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Law enforcement agents explained that they had reviewed video footage of Tjay hopping out of his vehicle and identifying Offset by pointing at him. The cops added that as soon as Tjay singled out Offset and led his group to the rapper, a fight broke out, and he had it filmed on his phone.
It was during the altercation between Tjay and Offset’s friends that one of his associates pulled a gun and took a shot at Offset, leaving him with injuries. As noted by TMZ, the brawl between Offset and Tjay’s crew lasted until the cops arrived, leading to Tjay’s arrest.
The ‘Pop Out’ Rapper Was Arrested On A Different Charge
The bullet hit Offset as he interacted with fans right outside the Florida hotel, and Tjay was subsequently booked on the evening of April 7 for participating in the fight. As shared by The Blast, Tjay was booked into the Broward County Jail for misdemeanor disorderly conduct-affray.
The rapper was also held on a $500 bond, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, where his mugshot was taken. As for Offset, his spokesperson confirmed on April 7 that his condition was stable and he was under close monitoring by professionals.
Authorities noted that lives were not lost during the shooting, but one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. The cops also added that the investigation was ongoing and two people connected to the case had already been detained.
Lil Tjay Denied Any Involvement In Offset’s Shooting
Following the incident, The Blast shared that Tjay’s name began circulating online in connection to the shooting, prompting his legal team to issue a clarification. The statement, shared on Instagram, stressed that the rumors swirling about the rapper and his involvement in the shooting were completely unfounded and false.
Tjay’s legal team urged the public to ensure they verify any information connected to the case before hopping online to spread false reports. Attorney Dawn M. Florio continued that her client has neither been shot nor charged with any shooting, insisting that any contrary reports were inaccurate.
Offset, who is currently estranged from his rapper wife and baby mama, was spotted getting very friendly with fans and shaking their hands towards the valet area at the shooting spot. As soon as the shot went off, video footage showed officers struggling to keep the situation under control, with one individual pinned to the ground. At the same time, another person on the scene resisted police arrest.
The Former Migos Member Is The Second From The Group To Get Shot
Offset’s shooting definitely struck a chord in the hearts of his long-time fans from his days as one of the Migos boys. In 2022, rapper Takeoff was tragically shot and killed at a private party he attended alongside his bandmate and uncle, Quavo.
Following his shooting, Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested, although he denied responsibility and is currently awaiting trial in November 2026 after years of delay. Takeoff’s passing ultimately led to the disbandment of the group in 2023 as they decided to focus on their respective solo careers. According to Offset, it would not be right to continue as a group without Takeoff, whom he described as the glue of Migos.
During their time together, the group got two Grammy nominations in 2018 for their second studio album, “Culture,” and their hit single, “Bad and Boujee.” Offset later released singles and several collaborative projects with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, NoCap, and Lil Dump. Quavo has also become a vocal advocate against gun violence by launching The Rocket Foundation.
Offset Prioritizes The Kids Amid Divorce From Cardi B
The 34-year-old and the “Bodak Yellow” rapper separated in December 2023 amid allegations of infidelity and a previous divorce filing in 2020. As shared by The Blast, the former couple have seemingly moved on from their failed marriage but share a mutual understanding about placing the children’s interests before anything else.
Offset explained in an interview after their separation that he desired peace and stability for their three children, whom they welcomed while they were married for nearly a decade. Cardi and Offset welcomed their first child, Kulture, in 2018, followed by a son, Wave, in 2021, and expanded their brood with a third baby, Blossom, in 2024, in the middle of her separation from the “Clout” rapper.
The estranged couple’s social media interaction has been filled with allegations of Offset being a deadbeat dad who left her to foot all the bills for the kids, including security and schooling.
