The media personality who recently came back home from a 3-week hospital sojourn is back from the operating theatre with good news after discovering a blood clot in a certain part of his body.
Perez Hilton ended up in the hospital after a careless decision to take his flu medication for a week without any form of eating, leading to a severe stomach ulcer.

The blogger is bursting with joy from the hospital after a great trip to the surgical room and back to stop a massive blood clot from causing serious damage to his body.
“The thrombectomy surgery this morning was quick and painless. I was asleep for it all. And I feel so much better already. I had a totally occluded blood clot from my groin going all the way down to just below my calf. Excited to go home tomorrow without any pain!” Perez shared on his Instagram post.
He described the whole process as God’s plan as he would make it home just in time for Easter festivities, acknowledging that God saved him in so many ways. Perez noted that his latest hospitalization was out of the blue, crediting God for taking control and making sure his healing was swift.
Hilton Needed Emergency Surgery
Perez’s emergency surgery was for an early observation of a massive blood clot in his leg after periods of excruciating pain. He revealed this in a video he shared from his hospital bed at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas. He recalled meeting up with a surgeon to report soreness in his legs, and then in the morning, things had gotten worse, with him no longer being able to walk.
After taking an ultrasound based on his doctor’s advice, Perez had this to say, “I have a deep vein thrombosis. I am so thankful to God that we caught this early because if that blood clot had gone to my lungs or my heart, it could have been really bad.” He revealed that he would be going in for a thrombectomy, where they would remove the blood clot that extends from her groin to her foot.

A source close to Perez confirmed that the experience left a lasting impact on him because he never saw himself as someone who would ever experience a difficult health issue. As shared by The Blast, the extent of the blogger’s illness became apparent during his stay in the hospital, where he came to doubt his survival at some point.
As soon as he emerged from the critical stage, Perez became fully aware that he had a second chance at life and that the situation that had happened to him had given him a new perspective on life. The 48-year-old, in a nearly 30-minute-long video, did a crucial breakdown of how he ended up fighting for his life and nearly losing it because he decided to treat the flu and was negligent in going about the treatment.
He shared that he got sepsis from his method of taking medication on an empty stomach for days, leading to a perforation of his stomach walls. The Blast shared that Perez explained that he was not able to walk the next morning and had to be transported to the clinic in an ambulance.
The media personality commended his mom and sister for sticking by him throughout his ordeal in the hospital, sharing that they never left his side, and they also had a touching conversation about his sexuality and his father accepting him. “She assured me that he would have [accepted me]… and I felt such a weight off my shoulders. That was one of the most healing moments of my life,” the blogger stressed.
Perez Hilton Recalled His Body Falling Apart From Sepsis
Perez continued in the touching video that his experience was far from simple because the first few days of his hospital stay were filled with pain, constant x-rays, CT scan, and ultrasounds.
He added that doctors had to resort to surgery after spending five days trying to locate the internal perforation, and they flipped around his organs. Things were made even worse as Perez confessed that the infection in his system was so severe that the sepsis continued to work, while his body continued to disintegrate.
His condition got so critical at a time that emergency treatment had to be applied. He admitted that once, things got extreme, and he lost control of his heart. Hilton also endured lots of invasive procedures, including a nasogastric tube and a catheter going into his body.
