The celebrity blogger took to his Instagram page on March 21 to give a health update, promising to provide a full breakdown of what went wrong with his health soon enough.

Perez Hilton celebrated 20 years as a blogger in 2024, after he launched his celebrity gossip platform in 2004 and was the one-stop spot for piping hot Hollywood news.

The media personality shared two separate posts on his Instagram page showing him on a hospital bed in admission gear. The images showed the blogger with several tubes connected to his body and his mother by his bedside, adjusting his pillows with a smile on her face.

Perez also took a picture of himself in an oxygen mask in another slide, and showed a picture of a balloon gift which had “Hang In There… Get Well Soon” printed on it. In a second post, Perez spoke about his health journey in a video containing several short reels. In the voice-over, he explained that he relocated to Las Vegas three years earlier and received the best care at Southern Hills Hospital.

He then thanked the nurses and doctors who provided excellent services and hastened his journey back home. Perez also promised his followers that a comprehensive story about his health and everything he went through will appear very soon.

The Media Personality’s Comment Section Lit Up With Support After His Confession

Perez assured a fan in the comments that he will share all the details about his health scare on his YouTube page on Monday. Reality TV alum Holly Madison also checked in on the blogger, asking if he was doing okay.

“Sending you so much positive energy and wishing for a speedy recovery,” this Instagram user wrote, as another praised Perez for recognizing the hard work of the nurses. Singer Bebe Rexha also showed up with concern in the comment section of his post.

Bravo alum Brandi Glanville urged the blogger to take good care of himself, adding that she would be supporting him with prayers and good wishes. This commenter wrote: “Even if we are not on the same page regularly, I respect you, and I’m sure you’re a wonderful human being. Please come back and get better. God bless you.”

The Blast shared in 2024 that Perez marked his two decades in the blogging world with loads of memories and facts about how timing favored his niche. However, such an interesting journey could not have been made without a few regrets along the way.

“I have a lot of regrets. I would most importantly change how I spoke about celebrities. I’ve learned that you can be opinionated and fun and sassy without being cruel,” he began. The star then took full accountability for the words he said and his delivery, stressing that even if it was the norm back then, it still did not feel right in retrospect.

Perez described his actions at the time as very selfish and was constantly pushed to go to unthinkable heights due to his addiction to attention. He confessed that he was also very aware of his actions back then, but he just did not care enough to pause and reflect.

Perez confirmed to The Blast in 2024 that his blogging really began as a hobby for him in 2004, coinciding with the start of social media as a concept. He revealed that Facebook came right after MySpace at the time, and he took advantage of it.

He noted that it was curiosity that led him into the path of blogging because if he had waited five more years, he could have been a YouTuber. Perez continued that ten years after that would mean he would have been an Instagram influencer, and another five years after, he would have become a TikTok creator.

He explained that while he started in a less crowded field, without much competition at the time, it was still not a piece of cake. In his words, “I began and was successful for over a year before TMZ even launched, and I was told that it was the success of my website that inspired the birth of TMZ and others like that in the wake of me.”

The media personality assured the news outlet that he is more fired up than ever and is still in his icon era. He bragged that he has outlived so many celebrities who started before, during, and after his time, which is a testament to the fact that he chose the right field.

He referred to one poignant moment in his career where he was approached about being included on the list of the most hated websites in Hollywood on a TV show. Perez noted that he promptly asked to be included at the top of the list because he understood how much star power he had for him to even be in the conversation at all.

He continued that this decision further skyrocketed his brand, crashed his website, and drove more traffic to his page, making him realize that people were actually consuming what he shared out of his love for gossip.

Get well soon, Perez Hilton!
