Taylor Frankie Paul finally lifts the lid on silence since the word on “The Bachelorette” cancelled season made headlines.

The media personality has been almost off the grid since the news broke out that she was being investigated for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, last month. This update resulted in the cancellation of what would have been her debut season on “The Bachelorette.”

Taylor Frankie Paul has been swimming in an unending domestic violence scandal. The star also allegedly has issues with drinking and intoxication, which her ex used against her in their custody battle.

For the first time since this case became a media frenzy, Taylor makes an appearance on social media. She sent two posts on her Instagram stories where she expressed profound gratitude to her friends who have supported her via different means.

Not beating the expectations, she did not directly address the situation at hand, nor did she comment explicitly on where things stand, but viewers could get the message from her posts. The first update was a picture of a curvy road with mountains and pine trees in the background.

The sun, captured in the photo, shone in the clear blue skies, and the words, “Thank you [praying hands emoji] to every check-in, call,  prayer sent” were boldly written across the top part of the photo.

Underneath the first statement, Taylor wrote, “Your unconditional kindness and check-in can be someone’s lifeline,” seemingly referring to her case and the people who have offered support for her in different ways. The star’s second post leaned more on her faith in God. She shared a picture that had a large Bible with her name printed on the cover, a vase containing white, yellow, and orange flowers.

An open page on a notebook, which said “Gratitude” at the top, with a pen lying right across the page, was also featured in the snap. Photos uploaded to The Daily Mail also show that Charlotte Freeman’s “This Was Meant To Find You: When You Needed It Most” was also placed on the table beside the notebook. Over the picture, she wrote, “Ending every single night with gratitude even if it’s just ONE glimmer.”

Why Has The Reality Star Been Silent?

The whole case against the media personality revolves around the fact that Dakota, her ex-boyfriend, filed for a protective order against Taylor, alleging that a domestic violence altercation took place between them in February. He claimed that the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star choked and hit him before shoving him into a window.

Dakota alleged that he physically had to remove her hands from his neck as their heated argument quickly turned physical. Based on these recent revelations by her former lover, a district attorney considers whether to file charges against her. Reportedly, the Chief of Police in Draper, Utah, has handed the case over to the Salt Lake County District Attorney, Sim Gill.

Taylor would not be completely out of the woods even if the DA decides not to file charges against the reality TV star because the city prosecutor could take up the case. Taylor’s history does not help matters, as she is still on probation from an incident that took place in 2023. Then she pled guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault, and in exchange, four other charges filed against her were dropped with prejudice.

The Domestic Violence Incident Came Up On ‘The Bachelorette’ Set

The fact that this season of the show got cancelled after the viral video of Taylor’s altercation with her ex and the news of the violence that existed in their relationship came to light did not stop insiders from spilling the tea. The Blast reported that one of the male contestants who went on a date with the 29-year-old brought up the topic.

During the one-on-one date, Casey Hux asked the star questions about the incident, seemingly to know if she had grown past that version of her past self and learnt from the experience. Insiders claim that Hux asked only because he was aware of her arrest history but not of the viral video at the time.

Taylor, in a later Instagram post, gave the impression that she did not care that the topic came up. There were disputing views as to what happened on the date; a source claimed that she got very emotional, whereas another said she got upset and stormed off the set.

The ‘Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives’ Star Is On Her Third Domestic Violence Incident

Three times is a charm! The question is, for Dakota or his ex-lover? As more details unravel about the recent altercation, the first one that led to the TV star’s arrest, and gasping truths from the viral video, it has been revealed that another similar incident took place.

A police spokesman told outlets that while they are still trying to determine the specific timeline of events, Dakota had contacted the West Jordan Police Department in 2024 to report a domestic violence incident against Taylor. As shared by The Blast, investigations are still ongoing as the authorities review evidence to narrow down the details and establish a timeline.

The police also await word from Taylor. The spokesman shared that they were still expecting Taylor to come in for an interview or to submit a written statement. The star’s account of events would go a long way to assist the investigators in validating her ex’s claims or otherwise.

Reports have confirmed that the cancellation of this season of “The Bachelorette” did not cut Taylor’s cheques. It has been revealed that she is still getting her full payment for starring as the lead in the season because she did not falter in fulfilling her side of the deal.

The Blast shared that her contract with the network stated that payment would be made for services rendered, and since she filmed for the entire season, ABC had to hold up their own end of the bargain. Taylor also went on a series of promotional tours for the show before the revelation of the viral assault video, which prompted the decision to cancel the season.

Also, the broadcasting company was fully aware of her past, and it reportedly raised some eyebrows initially, igniting reservations; however, they still went with Taylor as the face of the season.
