Joseph Duggar‘s wife, Kendra Caldwell Duggar, is off the hook for now.
The 31-year-old’s partner was arrested shortly after her husband’s first appearance in court on Friday, March 20, 2026, but was eventually released to go home.
Joseph Duggar was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 18, after the police got involved in a confrontation between him and his alleged victim’s father over the incident, which happened in 2020 on vacation.
Joseph Duggar’s Wife Is Out Of Jail
The actor’s wife was released the same day she was arrested on Friday, around 6:20 pm, from the Washington County Detention Center under a $1,470 bond. She was arrested on charges of allegedly endangering the welfare of a minor and also participating in false imprisonment.
Law enforcement allegedly visited the Duggars’ family compound in Arkansas earlier on Friday with a warrant out for her arrest, but she was not found on the property. As reported by TMZ, she was later found and taken into custody, according to the police station’s website.
Joseph was arrested on Wednesday in Tuntitown, Arkansas, and subsequently charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor, who accused him of several instances of sexual assault during a family vacation years ago.

One more commenter sent prayers Kendra’s way, noting that it is not easy to be in that situation, but it is necessary for her to protect the children from harm’s way.
This Instagram follower advised Kendra to run, leave the family with her children, and never allow that actor to contact the kids again. “I hope you never allow this monster to be around your Children ever again. Now is the time to stand up against this crackpot religion, don’t allow it to continue to protect these predators,” this commenter added.
Joseph Duggar’s Cousin Empathised With His Alleged Victim
The actor’s cousin, Amy Duggar, addressed her cousin’s recent arrest, expressing her empathy for his teenage victim, who had to experience something so tragic and traumatizing at such a young age.
As shared by The Blast, Amy described the incident as very shocking but not surprising that Joseph was now the latest predator from a toxic system. Amy noted that the child who was abused deserved to be protected by people she could trust; instead, she had to endure manipulation and molestation from the actor in 2020.
She stressed that the bravery and courage it took for the victim to come forward with her story, especially after carrying around such a huge burden for so many years, deserved to be celebrated. Joseph is currently awaiting extradition to Florida from his jail cell in Arkansas to continue his case.

Following his arrest, Joseph was placed in a secure area of Washington County Jail, where he is expected to be transferred to Florida over the next 30 days. A supervising corporal at the institution revealed that the actor is on the priority safety list due to the widely public nature of his case and the associated risk.
The Blast stated that the actor is reportedly being kept isolated from other inmates, as his case may compromise safety and carry severe consequences. With this knowledge, the prison authorities have devised a system of hourly checks to protect Joseph from others and himself.
Officials stationed outside his jail cell are fully kitted in body cameras to ensure that harm stays out of Joseph’s way in jail. The actor’s sister, Jill Duggar, also reacted to his arrest, revealing she was informed of his situation via text.
“We strongly condemn abuse. We support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved,” Jill noted in a family statement, hoping that Kendra and the kids would get all the strength required to fight through the storms raging in the family.

The reality TV star’s brother, Josh Duggar, through his attorney, spoke up in defense of his brother following his arrest for sexual assault, insisting that he does not believe any of the claims leveled against his brother.
Josh described the allegations as sensationalized fiction that has been misinterpreted. In his attorney’s words, “Josh understands the stigma of being accused. He lives with the painful reality of how false accusations can destroy a life. He understands how the targeting of a person for publicity can twist the truth into sensationalized fiction.”
During the confrontation with the victim’s father, Joseph reportedly admitted his actions both to the father of the victim and to a detective in Tontitown, Arkansas. As for Josh, he was arrested in 2021 after he assaulted 5 minors in 2015, including his two younger sisters, and was then sentenced to 12 and a half years behind bars for receiving and keeping child sexual abuse material.
