Joseph Duggar‘s case took a wild turn with shocking news about his wife, Kendra Caldwell Duggar.
Arkansas law enforcement agents arrested the actor’s wife as he was hit with additional charges in the case of him sexually assaulting a minor back in 2020.
Joseph Duggar appeared in court on Friday, March 20, where he agreed to be extradited to Florida, where he reportedly acted inappropriately with a 9-year-old during a family vacation.
Joseph Duggar’s Wife Was Arrested On Two Separate Counts
Kendra was arrested on Friday, March 20, as a result of the ongoing investigation, which led to additional charges being filed against the couple.
The Tontitown Police Department on Friday revealed that arrest warrants had been issued for the couple on the following: four second-degree counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and four second-degree counts of false imprisonment.
Kendra was later released from the Washington County Jail hours after she was picked up. As for her husband, he is still being held in the Washington County Detention Center for a case out of Florida. As noted by Kark, the Arkansas local police explained that the charges slammed against the Duggars in Arkansas are unrelated to the actor’s case in Florida.

Following Joseph’s arrest, details about Kendra’s social media footprint became public, with fans noting that she abruptly stopped posting family content on her Instagram nearly a year after the alleged assault by her husband took place.
The Blast shared that the Instagram account @littleduggarfamily often featured images of their family events, such as birthday parties and even the birth of their third child, Brooklyn Praise Duggar, in February 2021.
The social media page stopped posting after November 3, 2021, when she posted a special message for their child, Addison, on her second birthday. Although Kendra stopped posting, the comment section was left open, and it has been active since Joseph’s arrest.
Joseph Duggar’s Wife Advised To Exit The Marriage Amid The Actor’s Woes
The actor’s wife’s notifications may have started blowing up if she still has access to the Instagram account. Many users and concerned followers have stormed the account’s comment section, advising Kendra on the next steps to take after her husband was just picked up.
Several followers expressed their heartbreak and disappointment over the situation, while sending prayers and best wishes Kendra’s way to get through the tough times. Other commenters advised her to strike while the iron is hot, to leave the Duggar family in the past, and to focus on a new, drama-free life ahead of her.
“If he would do it to other people’s children, he would do it to his own kids while the mother is complacent. As a survivor, I know this to be fact,” this Instagram user declared. Another follower wondered who was in charge of their kids as Kendra was picked up on Friday, but eventually released.
The Actor’s Cousin Broke Her Silence On His Arrest
The Blast noted that Amy Duggar reacted to Joseph being picked up, registering her shock, but was definitely least surprised by the allegation. She praised the victim for gathering the courage to speak up about such a painful experience, emphasizing that the child deserved to be protected and surrounded by people she could really trust.
“The courage it took for her to come forward, especially after years of carrying something so heavy, cannot be overstated. That bravery deserves to be honored above all else,” Amy stressed. She added that she is not surprised that another predator has emerged from the toxic system. Amy’s statement seemed to reference Joseph’s brother, Josh, who is also behind bars for crimes relating to child pornography.
Josh was accused of molesting five girls in 2015 as a teenager, including his two younger sisters, Jill and Jessa. He was subsequently arrested in 2021 and found guilty of receiving and keeping child sexual abuse material, earning 12 and a half years behind bars.
Joseph Duggar To Be Extradited To Florida Within 30 Days
The 31-year-old appeared for his first court hearing on March 19 via Zoom, where he waived his right to an extradition hearing, allowing law enforcement to transfer his case to Florida, where he allegedly committed the crime. Following that development, the prison officials have been given 30 days to get him from his current holding cell in Arkansas.
The TV star was arrested in Tontitown, Arkansas, and charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor. The 14-year-old claimed that when she was 9 and on a vacation with her family in Panama City Beach six years ago, the reality star manipulated her under the sheets on the couch by touching her inappropriately through her underwear.
Joseph’s alleged victim claimed it was not an occurrence that happened just once, as the actor asked her to sit down on his lap repeatedly. The police got involved in the case on March 16 after an exchange between Joseph and his alleged victim’s father.
