Dennis Quaid is speaking out about what he describes as a “double standard” regarding political support in Hollywood.
The actor recently came under fire for publicly aligning himself with Donald Trump after joining him on the Air Force One aircraft.
In addition to Quaid, many other A-listers have also been vocal about their support for Trump, including Nicki Minaj, who received an engraved Bible from him.
What Dennis Quaid Said On Hollywood’s Political Double Standard

In a recent conversation with Fox News Digital, the 71-year-old actor noted that while the industry often displays a “F Trump” sentiment, only a small group of performers feel comfortable expressing their love for the president.
“There’s either ‘F Trump’ from the other side or ‘I love Trump’ from a few of us who speak about it,” he said, per Page Six.
Quaid suggested that this discrepancy is part of a broader “whipped-up scenario” that lacks common sense, comparing the current political atmosphere to far-fetched ideas.
Despite the potential for backlash, Quaid has remained open about his connection to the president. In addition to the movie talk, Quaid described his time flying on Air Force One as a “fantasy camp” experience. He noted that the aircraft looked exactly like a scene from an action movie, complete with military personnel and the nuclear football.
He recalled being on the plane just before coordinated U.S. strikes were launched against Iran, praising the president’s “poker face” during such a heavy decision.
The Actor Received The Heat For His Air Force One Rendezvous With The President

While Quaid’s time aboard the presidential aircraft was a career highlight for him, it quickly ignited a firestorm among critics. The controversy intensified after Senator Ted Cruz shared viral footage of Quaid interacting with the president, including a moment where the actor used his “Reagan” voice to compare the two leaders.
Quaid, who starred in a 2024 biopic about the 40th president, quipped that the current commander-in-chief is like Ronald Reagan “on steroids.” This comparison, which Cruz celebrated as a meeting of two great American figures, did not sit well with everyone in the industry.
According to The Blast, Lauren Holly, who played Quaid’s wife in the 1999 film “Any Given Sunday,” was particularly vocal about her disappointment. After Quaid publicly declared his love for the president, Holly said that his level of support was simply “crazy” to her at this point.
She further distanced herself from her former co-star’s political stance by reacting to photos of him on the presidential plane. Recalling their roles as a dysfunctional couple in the classic football drama, Holly jokingly reminded her followers that she at least had the opportunity to “slap him real hard” during their time on screen.
Nicki Minaj Has Also Declared Support For Donald Trump

Quaid is not the only major entertainment figure currently aligning with the administration. Nicki Minaj has also been making headlines for her growing connection to Trump, recently revealing a highly personal gift that she claims is one of the most meaningful items she has ever owned.
According to The Blast, the rap superstar shared an image of a signed Holy Bible she received from the president. The Bible featured the phrase “God Bless The USA” and his signature prominently displayed on the cover.
Besides the symbolic gift of the Bible, Minaj has also showcased other tokens of her relationship with the president, including a “Trump Gold Card” featuring his likeness.
The “Bang Bang” artist has become increasingly vocal about her support, despite receiving heat from some of her fans who felt betrayed by her involvement with the President.
Candace Owens Publicly Criticized The President

While figures like Nicki Minaj have drawn closer to the president, others are expressing sharp criticism following the start of the war with Iran. The tension reached a breaking point on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, when Joe Kent, the National Counterterrorism Center Director and a long-time supporter of the president, announced his resignation.
Candace Owens quickly reacted to the news by applauding Kent as an “American hero” while simultaneously launching a verbal attack on the president, per The Blast. Labeling him a “shameful President,” Owens used the moment to urge American troops to consider conscientious objection rather than participating in the ongoing violence.
Maren Morris Also Aired Her Two Cents On Trump’s Administration

While high-profile figures like Kent and Owens have expressed their dissent through resignations and professional critiques, others in the entertainment industry are taking a far more aggressive approach toward the administration and its supporters.
Country star Maren Morris emerged as a leading voice of opposition, explicitly holding voters accountable for the current state of the nation. In a TikTok video, the 35-year-old singer argued that the escalating conflict in Iran is the direct consequence of MAGA voters.
“I don’t have forgiveness for the triple Trumpers or any of the Trumpers. You did vote for this,” she said, per The Blast.
Morris didn’t hold back her words, labeling the president a “dementia-ridden” former television host and telling his supporters they had been “bamboozled” by a “propaganda machine.”
