You always want what you can’t have, but the moment you get it, you no longer want it. That’s how the saying goes, right???
Well, either way, “Friends” star Courteney Cox always wanted an Emmy nomination for her time on the show, but never received one during its 10-season run.
However, Courteney got another shot at getting an Emmy nom for “Friends” earlier this year.
In May, “Friends: The Reunion” aired on HBO Max and brought back all the feels for fans across the globe.
The reunion got the core cast back together on the original soundstage on the Warner Bros. lot for the first time in 17 years!
It was monumental to say the least.
And just last week, the reunion special scored an Emmy nomination, which means Courteney FINALLY got the “Friends” Emmy nomination she’s wanted since it aired in 1994 or so fans thought.
Courteney and all of her co-stars have been nominated for their work as executive producers in the Outstanding Variety Special category.
After the reunion special aired and prior to the Emmy nominations announcement, Courteney, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow did an interview with Howard Stern on Sirius XM radio.
During the interview, the “Cougar Town” alum revealed that she always felt slighted by the Emmys, because they never nominated her for her performance on the show.
Jennifer, Lisa and all of Courteney’s male co-stars received an Emmy nomination during the show's lengthy run.

She told Stern, “It always hurt my feelings … when every single cast member was nominated but me, it definitely hurt my feelings.”
Of course, Courteney was elated for her co-stars when they were nominated and became winners, but it still didn’t take the pain away.
“I was happy for everybody, and then when it was finally like, ‘Oh, I’m the only one?’ it hurt,” she said.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Courteney got candid about the Emmy recognition.
"Honestly, I am so happy that the reunion has been recognized because I think it's terrific. Ben Winston [director] did a great job and all of his crew,” she said. "
“That's not exactly the Emmy I was looking for," Courteney admitted to EW. "I'm being honest with you."
Despite this Emmy nom not being exactly what she was hoping for, she did express gratitude for being able to reunite with the original six and sit down in Central Perk one last time.
"I'm so thrilled that I got to do it onstage back at that same studio, the same Stage 24, with those incredible people that I love so much. And I'm so thrilled, but that Emmy [nomination] really belongs to Ben Winston…So yes, I'm so happy," she told the outlet.
