A few months ago, Saweetie held a Tesla giveaway for the car’s S model. This was done in order to promote her “Best Friend” single, featuring Doja Cat. The single itself has since been one of the most popular records of 2021. As far as the Tesla giveaway goes, there has been a lot of confusion since then regarding the winners, as social media has been accusing Saweetie of scamming and not actually giving fans the two Teslas up for grabs.
Saweetie Addresses What Went Wrong
Saweetie has recognized the backlash and has taken to Twitter to explain everything. She cited how the first Tesla winner was underage and the other hasn’t responded. This is after a fan called Saweetie out about what’s happened with the giveaway.
“The fake news concerns me these days. *Update* the 1st winner was underage & the replacement is unresponsive so we have to go through the process again.. a true supporter knows my character &knows I don’t play about my business. U were never a fan babygirl let’s talk about that.”
Fans Hope That They Can Still Get Their Hands On This Tesla
As of now, the “Bestie in a Tessie” giveaway is still ongoing, as fans hope that they can score this luxury vehicle. Two of them are still available. Over 11 million entries were submitted a few months back. The previous link to enter has since expired but fans hope that at this point, Saweetie updates it so they can shoot their shot with this giveaway again, which was in very high demand following the success of the “Best Friend” single.
Saweetie Was Nominated For BBMAs Award Last Month
Last month, Saweetie was nominated for one award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, Top Rap Female Artist. She wasn’t able to score this victory though, as it went to Megan Thee Stallion. Cardi B was the other nominee, as this category was very competitive. Nonetheless, Saweetie still had a very solid 2020 with hits such as “Tap In,” and is winning big now with “Best Friend,” which has since been certified gold in the US.
Saweetie Has Been Enjoying Herself Post-Quavo Breakup
Back in mid-March, Saweetie had social media going crazy, after she publicly announced on Twitter that she and Migos rapper, Quavo, had split. Quavo also confirmed on his Twitter feed that the relationship was over as well.
“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”
