Last week, Saweetie went viral again and it was for a very interesting moment. She was seen performing at the Santa Monica pier as many fans were passing by and wanted to check out her performance. A donation jar was also next to her, which many wondered was the case due to her being one of the most successful artists out right now. Now, she is taking to her social media feeds to address the commotion, especially with the donation jar.
Saweetie Said She Helped Raise Money For Upcoming Artist
Saweetie recently held an Instagram Live session, where she discussed the Santa Monica Pier performance. She claims that an upcoming artist was performing and she decided to do so as well and give the money that was raised to him.
“Was I asking money? No, girl, I wasn’t asking for no money yesterday,” Saweetie explained. “Actually, yesterday was a spur of the moment and it was fun. We were at the Santa Monica Pier and I saw this upcoming artist, he was singing with his microphone. I was like, you know what, I got a new single so I’m gonna just perform for my fans because I love them so much and a couple of people noticed me. All the proceeds and donations from that tip jar was given to him.”
Saweetie Released A New EP Last Month
Saweetie also treated fans to new music in April as that was with her “Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1” EP. This contained six tracks in total from her and other artists such as Loui and Kendra Jae. Saweetie had records on there such as “Pretty & Rich” and “Risky” featuring popular Los Angeles rapper, Drakeo The Ruler. This comes off the success of her huge appearance on Doja Cat’s “Best Friend” single, which was released in January.
Saweetie Ended Relationship With Quavo In March
Saweetie also had social media on fire in mid-March as then, she publicly broke up with her boyfriend, Migos rapper Quavo, on Twitter. It was there that she explained how she felt hurt and betrayed. Saweetie even accused Quavo of cheating on her.
“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”
Saweetie’s Debut Album Expected To Be Out In 2021
Ever since Saweetie‘s breakout hit single, “My Type,” in 2019, she’s won big with every release. Now, fans wonder when she will officially put out her debut studio album, which is supposedly titled “Pretty B*tch Music.” As of now, there is still no set release date but it is being hoped by fans that this could be out sometime this summer, which would be perfect, considering the title of Saweetie‘s latest EP.
