Cardi B's 2023 Microphone Tantrum Comes Back To Haunt Her

The ghost of the singer's past is back in her shadows as a displeased fan comes for her pound of flesh after she launched her microphone into a crowd mid-performance.

Cardi B refused to show remorse for the incident when it occurred in 2023, insisting the concertgoer's actions were a deliberate move.

Cardi B treated her fans to a swell time on stage in Las Vegas before she abruptly stopped to dash her mic at a fan in the audience, at a very perfect angle. Local authorities reportedly conducted an investigation into the incident in 2023 and decided not to press charges against the rapper.

However, the affected party is unwilling to sweep the matter under the carpet; two years later, her attorney, Cierra N. Norris, is prepared to hold a press conference in Vegas about the incident. 

The unidentified victim is now suing the rapper for assault, battery, negligence, and many other accusations for the Drai's Beachclub day party situation. She expressed their displeasure at the fact that the tool was also sold to the highest bidder; a sheer mockery of her painful experience.

According to TMZ, the plaintiff claimed Cardi B deliberately targeted her for the attack as she only joined several other fans who threw water at the rapper on her request.

When asked to detail her thought process about the fan's action, Cardi B revealed in an interview with The Breakfast Club that she believed the woman intended to throw the content at her face.

The Blast reported that the actress did not regret defending herself after experiencing such a violation from a concertgoer who decided to be different by aiming for her face.

"Even when I told them to splash me, I was like 'be careful with the face. The face is beat b-tch," she declared, stressing that the fan also threw the ice four songs after she asked fans to pour some water on her.

Cardi B clarified to the show hosts that the water thrower did not act like a true fan; instead, she tried to be funny, but got the shock of her life when she retaliated by hitting her with the microphone.

Ironically, something quite heartwarming emerged from such an awkward situation. As reported by The Blast, the microphone was auctioned and sold for $99,000 on eBay after a bidding war involving over 100 buyers.

A man identified as Scott took the initiative to sell off the "Shure Axient digital mic" to raise funds for charity. Scott explained that he owned the audio company, The Wave, which supplied clubs in Vegas with equipment, including the venue where Cardi B performed.

As soon as he retrieved the controversial item, the seller revealed that he had seen it as an opportunity to raise money for two charities. The organizations include the Friendship Circle Las Vegas for people with special needs and the Wounded Warrior Project for injured military veterans.

However, some factions were not impressed with such an unreasonable purchase, which seemed more like a financial irresponsibility or a PR stunt than a genuine charity cause due to the exorbitant price.

The victim initially tried to secure justice for the physical attack shortly after the incident when she filed a report for battery against the Grammy winner. She reportedly informed officers that she was hit by an item that was thrown from the stage at the day party.

Her attempt yielded no feasible result, as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department shared that they opened and eventually dropped their investigation.

They revealed that the department thoroughly engaged with the consultations from the Clark County District Attorney's Office, which have led to a complete closure and dismissal of the complaints. The singer was let go as the department affirmed that no charges would be recorded against her.

Cardi is not the only one who has police reports filed regarding their confrontational conduct during a performance. 50 Cent suffered a similar fate in 2023 when one of his concert goers slammed him with a police complaint after suffering a massive head injury from contact with his microphone.

The "Candy Shop" rapper reportedly threw his damaged microphone into the crowd in frustration after the sound team provided him with faulty microphones. In her police report, the victim explained that 50 Cent engaged eye contact with her before he threw the equipment in her direction.

The incident happened on the Los Angeles leg of his "Final Lap" tour in 2023, where he joined rapper YG on stage. The victim's contact with the mic earned them a trip to the hospital for a head laceration.
