At the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, Drake was up for six nominations after a dominant 2020 where he had a number one song in the US with "Toosie Slide" along with a successful mixtape in "Dark Lane Demo Tapes." On Sunday night, Drake ended up taking home two awards, which were for Artist Of The Decade and Top Streaming Songs Artist. When he appeared on stage, Drake brought a very heart-warming moment as well with his son, Adonis.

Drake's Son Holds His Artist Of The Decade Award

Drake walked on stage outside of Staples Center in a gray suit and Adonis joined him while wearing a red and black plaid shirt. Shortly after a roar of applause for the two, Drake handed his Artist Of The Decade award to Adonis. Fans on social media loved this moment as well as the audience in Los Angeles.

Drake Introduced Adonis To The World In 2020

Adonis was born back in 2018. Last year, Drake finally introduced him to the world. This was in a passionate Instagram post that included photos of him holding Adonis as well as taking a photo with his son's mother, Sophie Brussaux.

"What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light. This will create the biggest opening of all. Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy."

Drake Also Scored Three Grammy Nominations This Year

In addition to the six Billboard Music Awards nominations, Drake also secured three Grammy nominations this spring as well. He didn't win any there but nonetheless, these nominations showed why he is still one of the most dominant artists in the world. These nominations included Best Rap Song, Best Music Video, and Best Melodic Rap Performance. These were for his "Laugh Now Cry Later" single featuring Lil Durk and his appearance on Future's "Life Is Good" single, which was nominated for Best Music Video.

Drake Has Been Dominating With His Music Releases In 2021 As Well

In addition to Drake's myriad of award nominations and wins in 2021, he's had new music to back it up as well. In March, he released his "Scary Hours 2" EP, which contained three songs and featured appearances from Lil Baby and Rick Ross. Drake soon made history by having these three songs debut in the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His "Certified Lover Boy" album is also expected to be out sometime in 2021, after being delayed in January.
