Chris Brown is opening the new year with a bang, and his legal hammer has found the producers of a Warner Bros docuseries about him.
The songwriter has accused the production giant of promoting a defamatory project against him where he was accused of sexual assault and multiple violent conducts against several women.
Chris Brown has been involved in a similar controversy in the past when he assaulted his then ex-girlfriend and Grammy award-winning singer Rihanna back in 2009.
Chris Brown Claimed The Docuseries Had Negatively Impacted His Career And Reputation
The performer who recently achieved an impressive feat selling out the largest stadium in South Africa has dragged the producers of the docuseries "Chris Brown: A History of Violence" to court because every story told in it was false.
He accused Warner Bros. Discovery, Ample, and other personnel involved in pushing, publishing, and promoting the project of propagating defamatory claims against him despite "proof" that they were not telling the truth.
The singer reiterated that the account of the main character of the docuseries has been repeatedly denounced, and he was never found guilty of "any sex-related crime." He attacked the producers for describing him as "a serial rapist and a sexual abuser."
TMZ reported that Brown revealed that his accuser, who was the central character in the docuseries, eventually withdrew her lawsuit because none of it was found to be true.
The 'Don't Judge Me' Singer Took Accountability For His Past Alleged Abusive Actions
Brown noted that the producers and the primary character of the docuseries intentionally ignored all the facts that point to his innocence just to defame him and his reputation.
The performer noted that the journey of repairing his controversial reputation has taken him over a decade, and he is still on the journey.
Aware of his abusive past, the father-of-three acknowledged that he had taken accountability for the mistakes of his past, which included domestic violence against Rihanna. He added that much growth has happened in his personal life and career since then.
Brown slammed the production crew for capitalizing on an old narrative in the name of fame and fortune to open old wounds and cause harm to his reputation, career, and business opportunities.
He is now requesting $500 million in damages, which he has promised to donate to victims of sexual abuse if it gets awarded to him.
Brown Debunked Speculations Of Anti-Semitism Following His Reaction To Kanye 'Ye' West's Music
Controversy is not new territory for the 35-year-old star, who had fought off claims of him being anti-Semitic back in 2023.
In a report by TheBlast in 2023, Brown took to his Instagram Story to respond to critics condemning him for dancing to a song by Ye, talking about sleeping with a "Jewish b—h."
"Let me make this perfectly clear before y'all try to use me as a pawn ... Ima a Piru, I aint Muslim or Jewish, so don't start no sh-t won't be no sh-t!!!" the actor explained, emphasizing his connection with an organized crime group in the United States.
He added that he was "trying to be peaceful" and urged the internet folks to "not wake up the demon" in him as he urged them to continue their daily activities.
Brown insisted that labeling him as anti-Semitic was not the right thing for his brand, personal reputation, and public image, as he added:
"I'm pro life and I make music for the entire world!!!!!! So please do not get tricked into thinking I spread hate or am kool with it! This is for the millions of young kids that look up to [me] and [may] be confused."
