DaBaby continues to be one of the hottest artists over the last few years. Over the course of the past year, he’s had a No. 1 album in “Blame It On Baby” along with being Grammy-nominated. Over the last few days though, the Charlotte rapper has been trending heavily on Twitter and no one really seems to know why. The only explanation now is a myriad of memes popping up on Twitter and fans adding on to those by creating their own to try to top the other ones.
#DaBaby Trending Topic Was Seen On Twitter
For the memes used, users included the hashtag, #DaBaby, in these posts so they could get in on all of the action. A lot of the memes used DaBaby‘s notable “Lets gooo” line that he uses in some of his songs. Others even included animated versions of him as a Lego or on Fortnite. One use even hilariously posted an iPhone home screen screen shot where every app starts with things such as “DaCalendar” and “DaTikTok.”
DaBaby Received Four Grammy Nominations This Month
DaBaby made some noise heading into the 63rd annual GRAMMYs a few weeks ago as he was nominated in four categories. They were for Best Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Record, and Best Melodic Rap Performance. Three out of the four were for his multi-platinum and chart-topping “Rockstar” single feat. Roddy Ricch. DaBaby didn’t win any awards that night but he did end up performing Rockstar with Roddy and also joined with Dua Lipa in performing “Levitating” as he appeared on her remix.
DaBaby’s ‘Rockstar’ Single Dominated In 2020
DaBaby‘s “Rockstar” initially appeared on the “Blame It On Baby” album that April. It wasn’t a lead single but after this project was released, it instantly blew up and was a huge fan-favorite. In addition to it reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Rockstar is also currently 4x platinum in the United States. The Blame It On Baby album hit platinum status in the fall as well. The deluxe edition was also put out at the start of the summer.
DaBaby Has Also Been Trending For Burning $100 Bills In Nightclub
Last weekend, DaBaby also went viral for one of his latest nightclub appearances. He was seen burning $100 bills and smiling while doing so. A man seen in the video with him appeared to be surprised at what was happening. Others on social media weren’t very receptive of this as they believed that this was a huge waste of money, illegal, and it should’ve gone to people who actually needed it. Knowing the amount of money DaBaby has though, this doesn’t seem like a big deal to him.
