The 63rd annual GRAMMYS took place in Los Angeles outside of Staples Center on Sunday night. There were plenty of memorable winners and moments, with arguably the most notable won being Beyoncè reaching 28 total Grammy wins, the most ever. Two of those came for appearing on Megan Thee Stallion‘s chart-topping hit single, “Savage” remix. Now, the ratings are in for the GRAMMYS and it is far from great. The total viewers for 2021 reached 8.8 million.
2021 GRAMMYs Becomes Least Watched Show In Its History
According to Chart Data, this 8.8 million mark becomes the least watched GRAMMYs ceremony in its history. Trevor Noah served as the host of the GRAMMYs as all of the winners received their awards outside of the Staples Center. The performances from Cardi B, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, BTS, and more were all great but somehow, they just didn’t translate to high ratings. One theory could be that this was another awards show that didn’t have a real indoor audience that brought energy to the show.
Beyoncè Had Most Wins Of The Night With Four
Beyoncè led the way with the most Grammy wins of the night on March 14 with four in total. These were for Best Music Video, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best R&B Performance. Queen Bey was also nominated for six other categories, which included Best Record twice, Best Song, Best R&B Song twice, and Best Music Film. Everyone in attendance also saluted her once she reached the 28-career total wins mark at the GRAMMYs. Beyoncè is widely regarded as one of the best artists ever.
Megan Wins Three Out Of Her Four Nominations
Megan also won big at the 2021 GRAMMYs as she had another epic year in 2020. At these awards, she took home three out of the four awards she was nominated in. These were for Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. The song that won big was “Savage” remix featuring fellow Houston legend, Beyoncè. Megan also beat out “new artists” from the past year such as Indgrid Andress, Phoebe Bridgers, Chika, Noah Cyrus, D Smoke, and Doja Cat.
Billie Eilish Was Nominated For Four Awards
Billie Eilish was another star who had a very successful night in Los Angeles at the GRAMMYs. She was able to take home two out of the four awards she was nominated for. They were for Best Record and Best Song Written For Visual Media. The songs that won were “Everything I Wanted” and “No Time To Die.” Everything I Wanted was also nominated for Best Song and Best Pop Solo Performance. Eilish is only 19-years-old and already one of the biggest stars in the world.
