Ireland Baldwin is having a hard time understanding how David Dobrik and his friends got famous for YouTube videos, but one thing she is crystal clear on is how disgusted she is with the allegations of rape made by a girl against one of Dobrik’s former Vlog Squad associates. The daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger took to her Instagram stories on Tuesday to address the unfolding situation that has gone viral since a young woman came forward with the allegations against Dobrik and his entourage.
“I’m so fucking deep in this David Dobrik shit I don’t even know what’s going on,” 25-year-old Baldwin wrote while longingly staring off into space and sitting in her car.
She continued, “How do these nerds graduate high school and become YouTube famous and make millions of dollars jerking off and eating Mcdonalds and farting on their friends and get millions of people to tune in.
Contemplating the fame of Dobrik and his crew, Baldwin added, “Imagine saying you’re in a fucking VLOG SQUAD.”
News broke over the weekend after a woman named Hannah came forward claiming she was raped by former Vlog Squad member Dom Zeglaitis at a party in 2018. She claimed Dobrik filmed her entering a bedroom where she was allegedly forced into a threesome. The video was posted and then later removed at the request of the woman.
Speaking about the now-deleted videos, which have ben leaked online, Ireland Baldwin said, “Those fucking videos of David Dobrik and his friends are fucking disgusting. that didn’t happen that long ago. Take away the alcohol. Add all of the consent int he world… you’re still making a video of a grown man watching young girls having sex with your friends and reacting… for what? For all the young boys and girls who aspire to be like you to do the same?”
In the wake of the allegations, many companies have parted ways with David Dobrik, including DoorDash and EA Sports. He has released two apology videos on YouTube apologizing for posting the video in the first place, even though he claims he received consent from the woman prior to posting.
“I didn’t know what was going on in that room and I should’ve. I should’ve been there and I should’ve been making sure that everybody involved was taken care of and wasn’t uncomfortable,” Dobrik added in the emotional apology video.
