On Tuesday, Ireland appeared on the "High Low with EmRata" podcast and told her followers that although her mother is "pretty open," the strip club-themed baby shower was a bit too much for her.

“She watched me and my boyfriend get lap dances from eight strippers on the stage, and I think she was just like, ‘What is happening right now?'” she recalled. She told listeners that her 69-year-old mother "hid in a corner" after ordering "a pinot grigio at the bar with ice."

“She didn’t even know what to do with the money,” Ireland explained. “She threw a crumpled dollar bill as fast and as hard as she could … because she was so scared.”

Although some celebrities don’t want to share the name of their new bundle of joy, Ireland had no problems opening up about the name of her baby in a January 2023 interview with “Girl Boss” radio.

“We’re naming her Holland. I’m Ireland, so another country name because we wanted to keep that consistent,” she said of the “classy name,” noting that she has also “always loved” Emmy-award-winning actress Holland Taylor.

“I’ve always loved that name since I was young, I just thought that was such a classy, beautiful name, so we’re going with Holland,” she explained. She also talked about how she didn’t have much stability growing up with two A-list parents and wanted to provide that to her child as they matured.

“What I’m most excited about is really more centered around a lot of things I really wanted in terms of stability as a child myself that I didn’t have,” she said. “What’s kind of exciting is I get to raise this little human and do things completely differently than what I was taught was the norm.”

“It’s cool that I get to unconditionally love this person and do my best to make her as equipped for this world and badass as possible,” she added.

“This s--- is HARD. And you’re not alone if you feel the same. And it’s ok to be REAL and post highlight reels. It’s ok to be happy and sad at the same time,” she wrote in the caption. “I am grateful but I am struggling and that’s perfectly ok.”

Not all of us glow. Another piece of advice I hated was enjoy pregnancy now, you will miss being pregnant when she's here.. F that,” one fan commented. “Pregnancy was hard and exhausting and debilitating. And that is OK.”
