GoFundMe For Meghan Markle's Dad Thomas Exceeds $50K Amid Claim The Duchess 'Rejected' Him

A GoFundMe for Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, has raised over $50,000 to cover his medical expenses.

Thomas, who has been estranged from Meghan since her 2018 wedding, has since expressed his heartbreak over not seeing his grandchildren.

The octogenarian recently called out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, demanding to know why they have treated King Charles "so badly."

A fundraiser organized for the duchess' estranged father is receiving significant donations, amassing over $50,000. As of this writing, the current amount is £45,640 [$59,000] from over 2,400 donations.

British socialite Lady Colin Campbell launched the GoFundMe campaign to assist Thomas with his medical expenses and other needs.

In the fundraiser's description, Lady Campbell wrote that "Thomas Markle has been exceedingly generous with his time and money over the years, as I have learnt from the teachers at his daughter's school, who could not sing his praises highly enough."

Campbell emphasized: "His kindness and generosity are well known in the film community, and I agree that now that he has been rejected and abandoned by the daughter, those of us who wish to show him solidarity and give him the acknowledgement he should be getting from the actual recipient of his largesse, will hopefully, through our contributions, no matter how small, demonstrate to him that there are still people in the world with good hearts, good values, and good intentions."

As a self-described "well-wisher," the royal author expressed her wish for the donations to provide Thomas, 80, with the comfort he deserves as his health deteriorates.

Thomas and Meghan have been estranged since she married Prince Harry in 2018. The rift has left the octogenarian without a chance to build a relationship with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Last year, Thomas made a heartfelt appeal to Meghan and Harry to let him see his grandchildren after a debilitating stroke.

"I'm heartbroken. I am very upset," Thomas said on Good Morning Britain. "This is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent — to deny the right to see a grandchild."

He opened up about the prolonged rift, stating it has lasted over four years with no resolution in sight.

"In California, I can actually sue to see them, but I don't want to do that," Thomas claimed at the time. "The other thing is I've done nothing wrong. There's nothing that points to say I'm a bad guy."

Earlier this year, Thomas expressed his longing to reconnect with the Duchess of Sussex, though he remains doubtful it will happen.

"I know the one person I most want to hear from, Meghan, won't be in touch," he told the Daily Mail in June, before his birthday. "I would love to meet my grandchildren, but I would be happy with a photograph at this stage."

Thomas also criticized Meghan and Harry for keeping their children away from their royal relatives.

He lamented, "It struck me as very sad that Meghan and Harry's kids are being denied the right to know their cousins, who look like fantastic children, or take part in things like Trooping the Colour, which is their birthright."

Thomas added, "They are getting to the age where they will start to ask questions, as all kids do. I find myself wondering how Archie and Lilibet will feel in a few years' time when they realize all the things they have missed out on."

Meghan's half-siblings, Samantha and Thomas Markle Jr., are also not in a good place with her.

Samatha, 59, her elder sister, has been attempting to sue the former actress for libel, claiming Meghan defamed her during an interview with Oprah Winfrey and in her Netflix documentary.

However, she has been unsuccessful, as the case was recently dismissed  with prejudice by Judge Honeywell, who ruled that Samantha "failed to identify any statements that could support a claim for defamation or defamation-by-implication."

Thomas Jr., 57, Meghan's elder brother, has attacked her on multiple occasions by posting bizarre videos mocking and berating the Duchess of Sussex.

On his YouTube page, he promotes wild conspiracy theories about Meghan and the royal family. In one of his many live streams, Thomas donned a wig and tiara and stuffed a pillow under his shirt to mock Meghan's pregnancy.

"My name's Me-gain Swamp Donkey Crotch," he said, "I was just showing off the new bump I bought used on eBay out of Montecito."

Royal expert Jennie Bond condemned Thomas Jr.'s video as "grotesque," stating, "To have your own flesh and blood lead the assault must feel like the ultimate betrayal for Meghan."

In an op-ed for The Mirror, Bond argued, "Thomas Markle Jnr's videos reveal exactly why the Duchess of Sussex was right to cut ties with her half-brother."

She criticized his "sick 'shows,'" where he uses vile insults about Meghan's appearance, behavior, and children, even referring to her as "an old hag" and a "demon reptile snake with a black, evil soul" in a birthday message.

Despite Thomas Jr.'s constant jabs at Meghan, she has never responded. Instead, she is focused on her family with Prince Harry and her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
