While contemplating a third breast enhancement on a recent podcast episode, Tori Spelling shared some hilarious details about her first rodeo.
Her first breast augmentation was far from the typical Hollywood tale. After her initial surgery, she later had to undergo a second procedure to address her expired implants.
Tori Spelling is all about being open on her podcast, but it doesn't get more real than getting your first breast implant at a strip mall.
Tori Spelling Reveals First Breast Implant Was In A Strip Mall
During a recent episode of her misSPELLING podcast, Spelling responded to a fan's question about her breast augmentations.
The "Beverly Hills, 90210" star revealed that her first surgery took place at a local strip mall and not the glamorous setting one might expect for a Hollywood actress.
Spelling recalled that she was 19 at the time, and despite her reservations, she went to a place suggested by a friend of her ex-boyfriend.
The TV personality described her experience visiting a doctor's office located in the strip mall. She emphasized the unusual setting, saying, "I went to this doctor and it was in a strip mall. I can't make this up."
Despite the unconventional location, Spelling mentioned on the episode that she believed the doctor was competent, before adding:
"It was just an outpatient surgery center in a strip mall. I was 19, so I was like, 'Uh this isn't Beverly Hills,' I was confused."
The 51-year-old went on to express gratitude that her well-known friends, Alicia Silverstone and Carmen Electra, supported her during her recovery from the breast augmentation surgery.
The 'BH90210' Star's Quest For The Perfect Fit
Despite now being able to laugh about her initial experiences with breast augmentation, Spelling revealed that she had to undergo a second procedure to reverse the first one. She explained:
"My whole intention of getting them redone was to go smaller. Looking back in the '90s, I liked my boobs, I wish I had just kept them. I was like a 32B, maybe like an A+ or minus. I just wanted to make them fuller."
However, even the second surgery didn't achieve the desired outcome, and the actress admitted she still was not entirely satisfied.
"I don't think these are the right ones either. Darn it. Third time's a charm," Spelling remarked with a chuckle.
Spelling's Second Surgery Happened In 2021
Prior to revealing her teenage breast augmentation experience, Spelling had previously opened up about a long-overdue doctor's visit that addressed her health issues.
The Blast shared that she took to her Instagram Story to document the process with a photo from her doctor's office. In the image, Spelling showcased a large glass container filled with numerous foam breast implants.
The "Trick" actress admitted in writing across the snap, "After many years of needing to, I'm finally addressing my expired and recalled implants."
Implants Out!
With her second procedure, Spelling joined a growing list of Hollywood stars who opted to remove their breast implants, citing health reasons.
One notable example was Tamra Judge, who announced in June 2021, her decision to remove her implants due to autoimmune issues. Judge expressed her desire to reclaim her health, stating she was tired of "being tired and inflamed."
Similarly, actress Mena Suvari shared her journey in her 2021 memoir, "The Great Peace: A Memoir." She revealed her decision to remove breast implants as part of her healing from past emotional and sexual trauma.
Another celebrity, Kayla Lochte, also underwent implant removal after being diagnosed with breast implant illness (BII).
Lochte emphasized the positive impact of the surgery on her health and encouraged others facing similar issues to consider doing the same.
Tori Spelling Laughs Off Wendy Williams Comparison
Spelling has encountered more than just challenges with her breast implants when it comes to her appearance.
The star recently tackled critiques about her appearance, including comparisons to TV host Wendy Williams, during an episode of her "misSPELLING" podcast.
The Blast shared that the mother-of-five acknowledged her ability to maintain a positive outlook regardless of people's opinions. In her words:
"You can ask me anything. You can say anything, pretty thick skin. I do read the comments — look at me, I'm human. I can feel them, but I can also have a good sense of humor about them."
After being compared to the former radio host by a fan who wrote, "She looks like a white Wendy Williams," Spelling remarked, "I actually think Wendy Williams is very pretty." Despite any past tensions between them, Spelling stated:
"She hasn't been very kind to me in the past, but she is a pretty woman and I feel bad for her situation. But I feel like commenting on that, you'll never be able to unsee it."
