Kelly Ripa has let slip a possible reason explaining how she keeps so slim. The talk show host, 52, is always making headlines for her ripped physique, leaving viewers and fans wondering exactly what she feeds herself. Alongside her 2019 The Cut reveal, one detailing her "Bullet coffee" starts, on-set Starbucks, and varied exercise regimen, the Live! star has revealed that eating anything first thing in the morning interferes with her ability to focus. In 2012, Kelly spoke to Bon Appetit, actually stating that she can't concentrate properly while her "stomach is digesting."

Can't Think Straight While 'Digesting'

I can’t seem to focus my mind if my stomach is digesting." Kelly generally isn't done with the show until 10 a.m., although she did mention her Starbucks latte to The Cut, and that's halfway through.

'Bullet Coffee' And Starbucks

Outlining her routine, Kelly dished: "I make a “Bullet Coffee” at home in the morning — it’s coffee, two shots of espresso and a tablespoon of ghee and then a packet of collagen powder."

Name-dropping then-cohost Ryan Seacrest, the mom of three continued: "Ryan’s girlfriend got me hooked on it and I just sort of believe that if I drink it every day, my hair will be as thick as hers. Then I blend it all together and have this frosty thick beverage. I have a Starbucks latte when I get to Live. Then I will have a half a coffee after the show wraps."

Kids Want Pancakes And Scrambled Eggs

At the time of the 2012 Bon Appetit interview, Kelly and husband Mark Consuelos were still raising their kids Michael, Joaquin, and Lola. All three are now either in college or done with school. "When I was a kid, I maybe had half of a Thomas' English muffin and we were out the door," Kelly said. "But my kids all have different breakfast likes. They'll say, 'Can I have scrambled eggs and a side order of pancakes?' Sometimes I look at them like, 'This is not Denny's!' It's insane."

Husband Mark's Best And Worst Dishes

Kelly also dedicated a portion of her interview to couples talk, where she was prompted to name the best and worst dishes cooked by cohost Mark.

"I'm a better cook, but he is definitely the master of the grill, no doubt," Kelly began.

After joking that she doesn't know how to turn "on" a grill, Kelly continued: "The best thing he's made for me is a beautiful salmon steak that he's grilled and put a little orange glaze on top--very simple ingredients, but delicious. The worst thing he's made for me? He's tried to recreate his mother's bolognese. But everything is always missing. He forgets that more goes into it than tomatoes."
