Kylie Kelce has a strong message for her husband, Jason Kelce, who recently retired from the NFL after playing for the Philadelphia Eagles for 13 years.
The couple — who share three daughters, Bennett, Elliotte, and Wyatt — met on Tinder two years before going Instagram official in 2015. They tied the knot on April 14, 2018 at the Logan Hotel in Philadelphia.
Jason announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, shortly after his brother, Travis Kelce, won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kylie Kelce's Message To Jason Kelce Amid Retirement
Kylie spoke with 'Today' show co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie about her husband's plans for retirement, but had one thing on her mind.
"He needs to get out of the house," Kylie said before clarifying that "it's not that [she] need[s] him to get out of the house, it's that he needs to get out of the house."
"I think that with three small children, I don't think golf is gonna cut it," she added.
The 31-year-old then spoke on what the future holds for Jason, saying that "nothing is off the table at this point."
"He's my husband, so I'm biased, but I think he's so good at everything he tries," she told the co-hosts. "It's kind of a pain in the b-tt. Nothing is off the table, he's an ideas guy, so I think he's gonna see what happens."
Kylie Kelce's Hopes For Her Children
Jason Kelce has made an impact on Philadelphia and created a legacy in the city -- something she hopes that her daughters understand.
"I hope that they understand ultimately that their dad had an impact on Philadelphia in a way that was wholesome and that he understood the city, enough that he wanted to stay there and raise a family there," she said. "Enough that he loves the people that he worked with and will continue to love them. And that he did things in the city for charities and things like that, he gave his blood, sweat, and tears to the city, and it was out of sheer love and commitment, and I hope they see that."
"I think that ultimately it's not about them remembering that he played football. It's all the lessons that he got from football that he gets to take with him," she added, "When he's recognized by people and they approach him and they want to take a picture, our girls are too young to understand not everyone's dad has people come up to them and want to take pictures."
Jason Kelce Announces Retirement
Jason Kelce announced his retirement during an emotional speech earlier this year.
"It has been humbling to be in this position and to have had this opportunity, something I never take for granted," Kelce said during the 2023 season. "Obviously, you cherish every minute of it. I have incredible passion for this game and this organization, the City. It is so special to me."
When speaking on how he got his start, he recalled, "Howard took a chance on me. He wanted me and he looked at my strengths. Everyone was talking about me being 'undersized' but Howard saw my strengths and he played to them. It was an evolution that started with him and then when Stout (Jeff Stoutland, Eagles offensive line coach since 2013) got here, it just went to a new level over and over.
He went on, "If I knew back then what I know now in terms of technique and refining the little things, man ... It's something where you just keep working at your craft, and you have people around you who believe in you and if you have the drive to be the best, you love it.
"I've always loved it."
Eagles Chairman and CEO Praises Jason Kelce After Retirement
Following his announcement, Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie spoke highly of the Eagles center:
"It is difficult to put into words how much Jason Kelce has meant to everyone in this organization, to the City of Philadelphia, and to our fans. He gave everything he had to all of us for 13 years, and he did it in a way that was truly authentic. Jason was an incredible football player; a future Hall of Famer who would have been successful anywhere. But has there ever been a more perfect marriage between a player, a city, and a team?
His grit and determination, from being a walk-on linebacker at Cincinnati to an undersized sixth-round pick in 2011, are unparalleled. His intelligence and versatility, from starting as a rookie center in a lockout season to thriving under multiple coaches and offensive schemes, set him apart from others at his position. The genuine love and care he showed his coaches, teammates, and staff endeared him to all he worked alongside. The passion and intensity that he poured into everything he did, both on and off the field, made a city fall in love."
Jason Kelce On His Time In The NFL
Jason Kelce was a sixth-round pick out of Cincinnati in the 2011 draft. He then spent 13 years as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“It has always been a goal of mine to play my whole career in one city. I couldn’t have dreamt of a better one if I tried," he said during his retirement announcement.
While he has not yet announced what his retirement plans are, he currently hosts a podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce.
