Melania Trump has avoided being a present figure in Donald Trump's political activities ahead of the U.S. Presidential elections.

A new report has now explained that Melania prefers to be with her son, Barron, and father, Viktor Knavs and that Donald is fine with it because he's a "loner horse."

Melania's focus for now is on Barron and picking his colleges, especially after the death of her mother, Amalija Knavs.

Since Donald Trump began his second race for the White House, his family hasn't been as involved as they were before.

His wife, Melania, and daughter, Ivanka, have been noticeably absent from his campaign activities since last year. However, sources have confirmed to People Magazine that Donald is actually okay with their lack of involvement in his political life.

The source said, "Donald loves to be out with the people, and despite his burning legal and financial issues, going out on the campaign trail makes him happy. He is a loner horse and can function fine without his family, although he is happy when they can accompany him."

Another source explained that Melania is actually present when necessary but deliberately avoids Donald's campaign rallies and events, even those he holds at their Mar-a-Lago home.

They added, "Melania dislikes a petting zoo. She goes when she has to but if it's not essential she prefers to stay out of the public eye."

Multiple sources have also told People that Melania prefers to spend time with family, especially her son, Barron, and father, Viktor Knavs.

Despite this, she's shown up for Donald multiple times, including a dinner he recently hosted for Viktor Orbán, the Hungarian Prime Minister.

The source said: "She is more comfortable at this type of engagement than a hard core rally or campaign evening. She knows there are certain events she must attend and Donald is okay with her going to those, but not everything. He does well on his own. So many people want to talk to him and be around him that he doesn't dwell on who is not there."

They further explained that when Melania does attend any of Donald's events, she's always well-liked and friendly to the guests.

The source added that she's "lovely and charming" to everyone she meets, and no one ever has a "bad word to say about her."

Earlier this year, Melania suffered the devastating loss of her mother, Amalija Knavs, who passed in January at age 78. As she grieves her mom, Melania is focused more on Barron and, according to a source, is currently helping him to pick a college.

The source said, "Melania's main job is taking care of Barron, and I think it's possible that she will follow him wherever he goes to school. Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years."

Barron is one of the more private members of the Trump family and is turning 18 later this March.

The source explained that Melania's primary focus is on Barron and the rest of their family. They added, "She has always been family-oriented, and in addition to some of the charity work she has done, staying ahead of family issues is her priority. She has a good life."

It's been public news for many years that Donald and Melania have multiple disagreements, especially regarding his behavior with women and recent legal battles.

The businessman is currently preparing to appeal his judgment in the sexual abuse and defamation case involving writer E. Jean Carroll. Donald is also facing charges relating to the alleged hush money he paid adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Despite the turbulence, the couple are still holding on to their strong relationship.

A source told the news outlet: "Most of the time they put up a united front. In the end, Melania loves her lifestyle and is well taken care of now and later."

During a chat with Fox News's Laura Ingraham last month, Trump was asked whether Melania would be seen more during his campaign events ahead of the presidential election in November.

The business mogul responded to the inquiry, sharing that the Slovenian-born former model will be "out a lot" with him because she supports his initiatives to improve the country.

"It's funny; she was a very successful model, very, very successful, and yet she was a private person. She's going to be out a lot. Not because she likes doing it, but she likes the results," Trump remarked, per The Hill. "She wants to see this country really succeed. She loves the country."

He also emphasized Melania's love for privacy, citing an example of how she would rather he didn't introduce her during public appearances.

"You know, a lot of first ladies would go out — they want to be everywhere. They get angry at their husband because he's not introducing them," Trump added. "If I didn't introduce Melania, she'd be very happy about it. She's just a different kind of a person."
