Before Amalija's death, it was revealed that the former first lady wasn't able to make it to the Trump family Christmas festivities in Mar-a-Lago as she had to be by her ailing mother's side.

"Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family," a source close to the former first lady told Fox News. "It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother."

The former first lady's decision led to her absence from the Trump family's Christmas celebration hosted at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. A picture of the family enjoying the day at the luxury resort club also made its way to social media, which initially raised questions about her whereabouts.

Melania is reportedly expected to continue with preparations to take on more "diplomatic appearances" for Trump's 2024 re-election campaign.

Such a decision would see the former first lady attend MAGA rallies, Super PAC dinners, and other campaign events ahead of the election, which has been scheduled for November 5.

"Trump and his family are so secure that he will become president again that insiders at Mar-a-Lago say he's reached an agreement with [wife] Melania [Trump] to step up top-tier diplomatic appearances in 2024," a source told Page Six.

The insider also revealed that the former first lady believes she is better prepared to support Donald's re-election goal, hoping it will help her leave her name in the sands of time.

In a chat with Fox News last May, Melania revealed her plan if she ever became first lady again. She said, "My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow, and thrive. If additional problems arise, I will take the time to study them and understand their root causes."

Melania added, "My goal would be to ensure that every child has the support and resources they need to reach their full potential."
