According to a report, friends and family of country star and former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker are concerned for his well-being following his recent DUI arrest.

Before the DUI incident, Rucker had publicly claimed sobriety for ten years. However, his arrest and a previous drug-related incident over a year ago have raised alarm bells among loved ones, prompting discussions about staging an intervention to support him in getting back on track.

An insider who spoke to the National Enquirer (per Radar Online) shared: "Darius swore he was clean for years, and now this has people thinking he needs help to get back on track!"

Rucker was previously arrested in February 2023 during a traffic stop when authorities reported detecting a "strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle" and the subsequent discovery of 14 unstamped purple pills and a THC pen.

The "Wagon Wheel" hitmaker then allegedly handed over a marijuana blunt to the officer.

Subsequent tests identified the pills as psilocybin, a hallucinogen found in magic mushrooms, resulting in misdemeanor drug charges and a vehicle registration violation.

However, despite being released on a $10,500 bail, Rucker is reportedly anxious amid discussions among loved ones about potential intervention.

Following the arrest, Rucker's ex-girlfriend, Kate Quigley, criticized him and described his situation as "Karma," referencing past remarks he made about her health after her 2021 overdose incident with fentanyl-laced cocaine, which resulted in the death of three of her friends.

Quigley also posted an image of herself in a bikini on Instagram with the caption: "#Mood: when u hear your d-bag ex got arrested…”

Rucker was renowned as the lead vocalist of the '90s rock band Hootie & The Blowfish before transitioning to country music for his solo career. He has earned three Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album for his solo album, "Wagon Wheel," in 2014.

The memoir offers candid insights into Rucker's life on the road. Per the publisher, the book promises to be a captivating narrative, blending "stumbles, missteps, and battles with demons" and personal growth to tell "a classic story of a man and his music."

According to People magazine, Rucker said of his memoir: "This book is the story of my life as told through 23 songs that took me away, soaring, starting at ground level, living in a poor but happy home, never wanting for much more, enjoying what I had, even when times got tough because I had my escape, my refuge, my music."
