Kansas City Chiefs Parade Shooting Victim's Identity Revealed

One person, a mother of two, was confirmed dead after the parade shooting that unfolded after the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl celebration on Wednesday, and her identity was revealed by her employer.
Sources close to her disclosed that she was shot in the chest and succumbed to her injuries during surgery.
Local Radio Station Confirmed The Death Of Its In-House DJ In Kansas City Shooting
Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a disc jockey from Kansas City and a mother of two in Johnson County, was tragically confirmed as one of the victims in the shooting incident. In a statement addressing the unfortunate occurrence on social media, KKFI FM wrote:
"It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs' rally. Our hearts and prayers are with her family."
The media house concluded with encouragement that read, "Anyone who feels they saw something to reach out to law enforcement at 816 234 5111," adding, "This senseless act has taken a beautiful person from her family and this KC Community."
The news hit the community hard and multiple individuals trooped into the comment section to share their condolences.
"Our hearts and prayers go out to her family, both on and off the microphone. To have such a beautiful celebration end in such a tragedy. Sending love from NY," one Facebook user penned, as another stated, "From all of us in Cincinnati, we send our deepest condolences."
A third person expressed, "I am so very sorry for your loss. Prayers to the family of the young lady. Love from Minnesota," while a professional boxer added, "There are no words for moments like this. Sending prayers to Lisa's family and all her co-workers on this sad situation from a colleague here in DFW."
Newscaster Jane Lonsdale also sent in her condolences, typing, "So so sorry! Sending my deepest condolences to Lisa's family, friends, and KKFI from Austin. Our thoughts are with all of you."
Before the confirmation of Lopez-Galvin's passing, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graces provided insights into the shooting incident, disclosing that two armed suspects had been apprehended.
She also highlighted her anger at what happened at the event, noting, "The people who came to this celebration should expect a safe environment." Regarding the possibility of multiple shooting scenes, Graces revealed:
"That is still an active thing. That is a lot of ground to cover, as you know, the size of Union Station. I will tell you we have located that crime scene on the west side of Union Station. As far as in the front of [the station], that is still under investigation."
Kansas City Chiefs Players & Other Dignitaries Have Reacted To The Shooting
Multiple Chiefs players have broken their silence on the tragic incident, with Patrick Mahomes taking to X to convey, "Praying for Kansas City."
The quarterback's wife, Brittany, echoed her husband's sentiments by addressing the incident on her Instagram stories, stating, "Shooting is never the answer. Praying for Kansas City & America in general, this is rough."
Drue Tranquill, another member of the Kansas City Chiefs, shared a heartfelt message, urging others to join him in prayer for all the victims of this tragic act.
He then emphasized the importance of praying for the steady hands of doctors and first responders and for the complete healing of all those affected.
Additionally, US President Joe Biden issued a statement addressing the shooting, advocating for stricter gun control measures. He and First Lady Jill Biden pledged to pray for those affected by the tragedy.
The 81-year-old POTUS stressed that the shooting serves as a distressing reminder of the urgent need to combat the epidemic of gun violence in the nation.
Meanwhile, Missouri Governor Mike Parson and his wife, who were present at the Chiefs rally when the shooting took place, subsequently confirmed their safety and expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their prompt response.
They also extended their prayers and condolences to the victims and their families.
