The drama between stand-up comedian Ron Funches and his ex-wife, Christina Dawn Funches, continues with shocking allegations against his former partner.
The "Trolls" voice actor recently filed a restraining order against Christina, citing verbal and emotional abuse. He highlighted several concerning claims about his ex-wife, including her alleged plans to take their son if she doesn't get compensated.
Ron Funches Claims Ex-Wife Is A Threat To His Family
In the court documents obtained by The Blast, Ron implored a judge for a domestic violence restraining order against Christina.
He claimed his ex has caused him emotional harm through verbal abuse and harassing text messages, which he alleges has been a regular occurrence since 2023.
He listed the abuse dates as "January 6, 2024, January 20, 2024, and various dates in 2023." Ron explained Christina's harassment occurred regardless of time or place, including in front of their minor son, Theodore Rear Funches, and highlighted one of her alleged verbal rampages.
The comedian recalled that during a custodial exchange, Christina became enraged and began cursing and yelling at him. She allegedly called him "a horrible person and father and a 'piece of s---.'"
The drama didn't end there; she also allegedly demanded Ron to "be a man and buy her a house," or else she would take their son to her home country, Canada, without his consent. This incident allegedly occurred before she gave birth to Theodore, which is why the entertainer wants the judge to extend the protective order to his family.
The father of two believes that his sons — Theodore and Malcolm — alongside his elderly mother, Karen Denise Skelton, are in danger. He stressed that he is "extremely concerned" about Christina having contact with his family, given "her increasingly erratic behavior."
Ron also noted his ex-wife's conduct goes far beyond ineffective co-parenting and relentless harassment. He stated that her attacks have significantly impacted his peace of mind and strained their relationship to a point where the former couple are unable to have a reasonable conversation about their son's well-being.
The comedian claimed the only way he could fulfill his co-parenting duties with Christina was by enduring a "series of name-calling, profanities, and attacks on his character and parenting."
Ron doubled down on his need for a restraining order, noting he does not deserve to endure his former lover's frequent mistreatment. He also pleaded on behalf of his son, stating Theodore should not be subjected to the emotional harm that Christina "clearly seeks to cause as he grows older."
Ron Funches Filed For Divorce Two Years After 'Pandemic Wedding'

Ron's restraining order filing comes two years after his marriage to Christina ended. He filed for divorce in 2022, requesting joint legal and physical custody of their son alongside the termination of his ex-wife's rights to spousal support.
It should be noted that in California, the amount someone pays in spousal and child support is usually based on each individual's salary. In other words, if Christina is making more than her husband, she could be ordered to pay him support — and vice versa.
As for the former couple's property, Ron explained the pair's separate assets, debts, and community possessions had not been determined at the time. He noted his petition would be amended once the calculations were done.
The "BoJack Horseman" voice actor and Christina first met on the dating site Bumble and eventually tied the knot in August 2020. Because they got hitched during the pandemic, several media outlets dubbed their union a "Pandemic Wedding."
Not much is known about the pair's relationship as they kept a low profile, especially after their marriage. Most updates about the former couple came from Ron's social media page. During their engagement, the comedian hilariously penned:
"I call my fiance Robot because when we met on Bumble I thought she was so pretty but she only had one profile pic so I didn't think she was real! She is real and the only thing she stole was my last name."
Following their pandemic union, Ron appeared on Conan O'Brien's show to address the pair's intimate affair. He joked their wedding was a great ceremony because it's "a great excuse not to invite racist family members."
He also admitted that he never thought he would have a second marriage after his first trip down the aisle; however, quarantining with Christina made him confident he would spend the rest of his life with her.
